Little Passports: A Global Adventure
Little Passports provides a geographic learning adventure by introducing kids to new states and a new country every month. Characters Sam and Sofia act as the travel guides. Little Passports was created by two moms, Amy Norman and Stella Ma who researched and tested the content with their own children. Ms. Norman explains that “Little Passports invites kids to learn about the world around them – from the 50 states to countries all across the world – in a kid-friendly way, with new travel adventures every month.” (Source: Little Passports Press Release).
The way it works is that you can sign up online at www.littlepassports.com. For $11.95 a month or $41.95 for a 3 month subscription, you can choose between their World Edition or USA Edition. By subscribing to one of the plans, your child can learn about Sam and Sofia’s adventures that take them to Niagara Falls all the way to Time Square. They will learn about famous monuments and important dates in history and even fun tidbits like how to make a New York-style pizza. Included in your USA Edition subscription is a USA Discovery Kit that includes a letter from Same and Sofia, a wall-sized USA map, scratch book, disposable camera and photo scavenger hunt. In the following months they plan to send out a travel journal that will have 32 pages of activities themed around two different states, starting with New York and Texas. And the World Edition subcription includes the Explorer Kit that includes an explorer kit, a mini-suitcase with a letter from Sam and Sofia, and many other goodies such as a wall-sized world map, passport which can be personalized with stickers and a code to Little Passports’ online Boarding Zone. Every month, subscribers will receive a new country pack, Sam and Sofia’s most recent letter, a souvenir from the country featured and much more! (Source: Little Passports Press Release).
I like that this educational site and the Discovery Kits help teach children about the world around them. They will learn about their own country in the USA Edition as well as learn about other countries as Sam and Sofia head off to Brazil, Japan and China to name just of the few countries included in the World Edition. The first kit sent out to new subscribers is the Little Passports World Edition that includes an explorer kit, a mini-suitcase with a letter from Sam and Sofia, and many other goodies such as a wall-sized world map, passport which can be personalized with stickers and a code to Little Passports’ online Boarding Zone. Every month, subscribers will receive a new country pack, Sam and Sofia’s most recent letter, a souvenir from the country featured and much more!
