PBS Kids Cat in the Hat Christmas Special Airs November 21st

We are big fans of Dr. Seuss in this household so when I heard that PBS Kids is going to premiere the first-ever Cat in the Hat Christmas special this coming November 21st I immediately imagined sitting on the sofa, with the fire going, and snuggling with my six year old to watch this new show.  The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot about Christmas follows the Cat, Nick and Sally on a journey around the world to help a lost reindeer find his way home in time for Christmas which is called Freezeyourknees Snowland (love Dr. Seuss’s imagination).  On the way, the Thinga-ma-jigger breaks down, and they depend on a variety of animals – from African bush elephants to bottlenose dolphins to red crabs – and their remarkable abilities to help them make an amazing journey home. (Source: PBS Kids press release).

Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President of Children’s Media, PBS says “We’re excited to premiere the first Christmas special featuring everyone’s favorite cat.” “A festive event for the whole family, THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT CHRISTMAS! will take kids and their parents on a learning adventure, showcasing different types of animals and the incredible abilities they have.  In this new holiday special, the Cat will be a trusted guide, helping families discover natural science concepts, while laughing and singing with them along the way.”

So grab a cup of hot cocoa, your litte ones and enjoy this new show to help kick-start the holiday season!  Next up will be Charlie Brown Christmas!

The one-hour special premieres on Wednesday, November 21 on PBS KIDS, with encore presentations throughout Thanksgiving weekend and in December (check local listings).
