DEEDIL apps are created by a teacher (mom) and tech geek (dad) duo who think learning is the coolest thing since sliced bread! The first app they created was Robot ABCs with Jinxie, an education app that helps the little ones learn their ABCs like a robot! Of course, it has human narration too! Since creating their first app, they’ve been hard at work on their newest app series … simple flash cards that are to the point and make learning the priority … no distractions, no frills and no gimmicks. Their first of the series is Numbers Flash Cards 123, which features simple flash card style numbers and numerals 0-100 as well as a coloring activity to trace the numbers. It’s perfect for skill building and test prep for PreK, K and 1-2. There is also a free lite version that includes numbers and numerals 0-21 and a sample coloring/tracing activity.

iSPOTPRO FOR KIDS is based out of Leicester, United Kingdom. Leicester app designer, Mayuir Sidhpara says that his app, iSpotPro for KIDS is an engaging app built specifically for kids, which contains 35 unique real-life scenarios that teach and familiarise children with their surroundings while they play. Parents will enjoy using this app with their children, teaching them the various items that make up scenarios. The illustrated graphics are engaging for children, and the rewards system will challenge kids to try and finish the games to get a certificate. Mayuir believes parents would much rather their children occupy their time playing educational games, rather than playing violent computer games. The app can be used in a variety of areas, including – Schools, Special Educational Needs (SEN), Homeschooling and Therapy. Leicester Apps also creates other apps from iSpotPro Themed Edition (targeted to teens/adults) as well as various InstaBooth apps and their newest: Valentines Cards which was just released: https://www.leicesterappdesigner.com/leicester-app-designer/app-valentines-cards.html

EMIBAP is based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Independent Game developer Emibap has released a step-by-step drawing iPad app, Sophie’s Drawings. Sophie’s Drawings is made for children aged 3 to 7 which analyzes every stroke and brings the drawings to life. It now comes with extra help, easier strokes and more settings for parents, such as disabling the email feature. It is available in both a Full and Lite version. Each drawing consists of a group of strokes that children have to follow, with some accepted margin of error. When the drawing is finished, it comes alive as a reward. Kids get to draw basic shapes: a pig, a dog, a whale, and an octopus, among other drawings that magically begin to move. A new feature from a recent update has been the added feature/ability to draw without having to lift the finger from the screen. Emibap has also added a new drawing, the Rectangle Man (added to the first scene – there are a total of three scenes in the app). Emiliano, who was inspired by his 3 year old (now 4) daughter, Sofa, to make this app has plans to make it compatible with iPhone/iPod in the following update. Sophie’s Drawings has really cute graphics and music, and most of the sound effects were made by the “real” Sophie. Emibap also produces other apps (games) such as “Finger Slice”.

FUZZYBEES the developer of Count To 100!, a counting app with something every kid loves to press — elevator buttons! FuzzyBees has transformed the 100 chart, used in schools to help develop number sense and recognition, into an interactive version to help motivate and delight your child with a friendly voice, uplifting music, and those irresistible buttons that light up. The numbers are positioned in lines of 10s to give your child an understanding of how numbers relate to each other and how to simplify math problems. This helps your child to count in sequence from left to right, which may also help children with visual perception and motor planning challenges. Mastering the number line and understanding the fluency of numbers will contribute to your child’s success in math-related life skills such as counting money, telling time, and reading a thermometer. Skip counting is available as well. FuzzyBees’ “Count to 100!” was created by Jany Kartadinata, a mom of a child with special needs along with the rest of the team: Philip, Sophia, and Dhania for early learning and special needs.

DANDELION MOMS is based in Irvine, California and was created by award winning children’s author, Melissa Northway. Melissa wanted to create a website that embraced all women to show that they all women are beautiful, strong and resilient. Melissa’s journey started six years ago after the birth of her daughter. It was then that Melissa was inspired to write children’s picture books. Melissa joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) to find out how to make her dream of publishing a book come true. The journey was long and tons of work, but in January 2011, her first storybook app, “Penelope the Purple Pirate”, was released through her company Polka Dots Publishing (yes, Melissa started a publishing company to make it happen) and PicPocket Books. Melissa shares her story as often as she can because she didn’t listen to the naysayers who said the way she was going about getting her story published wasn’t the way it was done. Melissa is a big proponent of carving your own path and going after your dreams. Melissa’s biggest hope is that you are inspired by the women who write about their journey on dandelion moms and she encourages all to share theirs as well!

My husband and I like to keep it simple. Neither of us like to be around crowds of people so we do Valentines at home. He picks up some sushi from our favorite place and we enjoy having dinner with our kids with candles and “wine” (sparkling apple juice for them). They enjoy celebrating our anniversary with us. I can’t imagine it any other way. I live in the US. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

Any place for dinner with my husband, and someone else watching our 8 month old twins would be the best Valentine’s Day date! We’ve only been out once since they were born!

I guess the best valentine’s day for me would be something I LOVE which is burguers, believe it or not. It gets much closer to my heart when I get something I love other than something everyone wants, which would be a romantic, candle light dinner at an expensive restaurant. I’m from Brazil. If I win this I’m giving it as a gift to my boyfriend, who deserves it more than anyone!

US & There are so many great ways to celebrate Valentines Day. Hubs just got me some me-time & a dozen Lofthouse chocolate sugar cookies this weekend. I was in heaven! That said, traveling to Paris, London, or Italy would make for an awesome Valentines Day too. Traveling and exploring new cities makes any day romantic!

USA – I think the most romantic Valentine’s Day date would be anywhere that I am with the one I love. Fancy dinners, flowers, candy….all very nice, but spending time really being together is more romantic than all of these.
Jeff T.
United States, favorite Valentines dinner spot would be the secluded beach my wife and I enjoyed on our honeymoon in St. Kitts. A simple picnic basket, blanket, and bottle of wine to watch the sunset.
