Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph and Hero’s Duty Comic App Review & Giveaway
This week we purchased the newly released Wreck-It Ralph movie DVD and have watched it no less than 20 times! You could say we are big fans of Wreck-It Ralph in this household. My husband and I enjoy watching the movie because it reminds us of the days spent at our local arcade and my daughter loves all the silly jokes. In celebration of the new DVD and Blu-ray release, Disney has provided us with some code to hand out to Penelope’s mates for the awesome Wreck-It Ralph and Hero’s Duty Comic App. I had a chance to review both and really like what each has to offer.
Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe
Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe showcases our favorite characters, Ralph, Felix, Vanellope and others as we follow Ralph as he wrecks his way through the arcade. He is searching for a hero’s medal and finds much more along the way. Some of the features include exciting interactive games and the option to build your own candy cart which we really enjoyed doing. You even get to ride your candy cart in the appropriately named “Sugar Rush.” The characters voices are from the original movie and feature John C. Reilly (love him), Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch and Sarah Silverman!
A nice feature offered are the multiple reading levels and the word-for-word narration. The interaction is quite exciting as the first page opens up to a screen shot of Ralph and when you touch the screen it cracks and takes us inside the game. You feel like you have just entered the virtual world of Wreck-It Ralph! You then have a choice to have the story read or to play the various games. The animations are right out of the movie and quite clear. The storybook app is full of things to do and we look forward to seeing the movie soon!
Hero’s Duty Interactive Comic Book
A fantastic prequel to the upcoming movie, readers are able to venture into the Hero’s Duty game to discover Dr. Brad Scott, Tammy Calhoun, the Space Marines, and the infamous cy-bugs as they fight on the unnamed planet. There are over 22 pages filled with interactive pages that contains the original artwork. You have the option of choosing between two ready modes: panel by panel and autoplay. The sound effects are wonderful and exciting. The soundtrack that will be in the upcoming movie is featured as well! I think this app will be a hit with any comic book loving fan of Hero Duty! Each time you touch the screen a new screen pops up. Hero’s Duty is geared towards an older audience whereas Wreck-It Ralph is more for ages 4 on up.
Both of these Disney Apps are really fun and I am sure you will find loads to do to entertain. Disney has provided us with five (5) codes each for these two new releases. So enter and good luck dandelion moms!
Hero’s Duty Interactive Comic ($1.99) and Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe ($6.99) are available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch on the App Store.

Note: I was provided two codes to review these apps but this did not affect my opinion of Hero’s Duty and Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe. My daugher and I enjoy both of them!

I just saw “Wreck-It Ralph” last Friday night with my daughter at her school. It was awesome! I do believe that I liked it better than the kids! My favorite costume / character was King Candy. He looked like Humpty Dumpty to me. And they both cracked up!

Hi Cynthia – we loved Wreck-It Ralph too! And King Candy was a character that’s for sure!
