Money: Saving with Groupon.com

Saving Money with Groupon.com

Groupon.com is a free subscription service that offers a cornucopia of items at discounted prices.  There are deals on restaurants, household goods, toys, clothing, make-up, even vacations.  When you sign up you give the site your location and your email address.  Your location allows Groupon to show you ads targeted for your area.  These ads are most often for restaurants and services near where you live.  Your email address allows Groupon to alert you hot deals.  We are all trying to save money, so a site that can offer a way to do that can be a big benefit.  I want to caution you though.  Remember that just because something is a good deal doesn’t mean you have to buy into it.  I can’t tell you how many times I have, in the past, purchased a good deal on a local restaurant where I got a $50 gift card for $25 (or even less) and then failed to use it.

 Search for Something Specific:

I would recommend Groupon.com if you are looking for something specific.  Maybe you have a friend with a birthday coming up.  You could go on Groupon.com and see what offers are there today and purchase something that would appeal to that friend.  Maybe you are going to dinner this week with friends and they mention a new local restaurant.  You can check Groupon.com for any deals they may have for that restaurant or find another that offers the same type and quality of food.

Timing is Everything!

Groupon.com offers discounted deals on many items and services.  They offer a huge selection of discounted items from fishing day-trips, manicures,  to discounts on local restaurants. The offers are for a limited time, but there is always something new.  Purchasing only when you need and what you need gives you the opportunity to save money on items and services that you will actually use.  And because the offers expire you will keep going back to the site to see what is new.
