Don’t take on too much at once

Start small. Redoing one element of the bathroom at a time means less stress on you and your wallet. The easiest thing to change in your bathroom is the accessories such as the shower curtains, bath mats and toilet sets. For example, Citron green, sandy brown and creamy white are a stylish combination of colors that can add a signature look to your bathroom just with a few items.

Dress up those walls

If you live in an apartment and are not able to repaint, you may want to consider buying some bath art for your wall décor. If you’re the creative type, newspapers, calendars and vintage magazines are great sources of images for creating your own decollage.

Just remember, when hanging art in your bathroom, the art should be behind glass in avoid damage from splashes and since humidity will undoubtedly be an issue you will want to check with the framer before hanging it.

Don’t forget the floors

Another bathroom upgrade you may want to consider is radiant flooring, particular if you live in the cold northern regions of the country. Other bathroom dilemmas like lack of storage can be easily remedied with stack-able plastic or wicker storage bins, shower caddies and shelves over the toilet.
