DIY :: How to Make a Lemonade Stand

What’s summer without selling lemonade in front of your house or on the street corner?  In my last post I mentioned that my daughter and I worked on a summer bucket list of things we want to do this summer.  We have about 42 days of summer to finish our checklist as she goes to a year-round school, so we are starting this weekend by building a lemonade stand.  Since it will most likely be my husband doing the actual building of the stand, I went in search of some simple ones to attempt as this will be his (and my) first one!  I came across some adorable ideas in my search that I just had to share for those extra handy  moms and dads out there.  People are just so creative and it got me thinking about setting up a whole new section on dandelion moms called DIY.  Why not?  Maybe we can learn together how to make our own patio set (found a rather easy yet stylish one made for under $200) and other DIY ideas.  Here’s to being crafty ladies (and gents!).

And make sure to check out Country Time Lemonade FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/countrytime?fref=ts.  They have some really great ideas on how to set up the lemonade stand and even provide a 47-page pdf that offers a step-by-step business plan for your kids if they are serious about earning some cash for the summer. .

Here are some Lemonade Stands to inspire you to create your own this summer!  Wish us luck – we are heading to the lumber yard today to attempt our first lemonade stand!

This adorable lemonade stand can be seen on Sweet Designs: A Blog by Amy Atlas.  Unfortunately, they don’t provide a step-by-step plan on how to actually build this one BUT there are a ton of ideas and gorgeous pictures of things you can add to your lemonade stand such as cupcakes, the handcrafted fabric banner, and much more.  To see more and get some ideas go to:

This simple yet adorable lemonade stand can be seen on www.crackersylimonadablogspot.com.  I love how this one can be made with a table you probably already have in your house.  You just need to add some fun paper banners you can make with the kids in yellow, black and white with some handmade pinwheels.

This lemonade stand is the one we are planning to attempt.  It was created by Kristyn at Lil Luna at: https://lilluna.com/tutorial-tuesday-vintage-lemonade-stand/.  She had her husband build it for the Rice Crispies Challenge (will have to check that out!) and this is what they came up with!  It is so adorable and I sure hope ours turns out as good.

And check out Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation that raises money for Childhood Cancers.  You can read more at: https://www.facebook.com/alexslemonade?fref=ts and here: https://www.alexslemonade.org/campaign/stands-and-events/about

Good luck dandelion moms and have fun!

Did you have a lemonade stand as a kid?
