In the Spotlight with Cozi

Most moms can attest to feeling overwhelmed from time to time.  Between work, family life and trying to maintain a social life of some sort, life can feel chaotic sometimes.  I am always looking for ways to stay organized and even have a plan this summer to get our household de-cluttered.  We will post about this huge feat over the summer which I am doing so I will be held accountable by my lovely dandelion moms!  One of the ways I stay organized is by writing down our schedules – between all of my daughter’s school and sporting events, we are pretty busy as are most parents!  The only problem with this system is that it is my organizer and as she gets older it would be nice to be able to have her add to the schedule so we can all see what is planned.  This is Cozi comes in!

Cozi –  Simplifies Your Life:

Cozi was founded by Robbie Cape who brought with him 15 years of experience designing software, building teams, and managing software businesses. From the  very beginning  the Cozi team have been all about families. Robbie says that “when we started Cozi, we were just a small group of Microsoft and Amazon veterans—all with kids of our own—looking for a way to balance our busy family schedules and create more harmony at home. So we pooled our collective knowledge and experience to create something special. Something that would make it easy and fun for families to juggle everything they have to do. Not just our families, but families everywhere.”
Basically, the Cozi is accessible for the entire family – when you want and how you want.  It works across many platforms including the iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, BlackBerry phone and even the web.  It can be your Master Calendar for the entire family and you list all of your work and school schedules, appointments and events that anyone in the family might have.  It will even send a reminder email to family members to remind them of what is going on for the week.

How it Works:

Everyone in the family signs in to Cozi with their own email and the shared password.  That’s it!  You are now part of the 4 million family members who use Cozi to help organize their busy lives.  It isn’t about micromanaging your life – it is more about organizing it so as to make your life easier in that you don’t have to stress about trying to remember everything or if everyone in the family remembered about an upcoming event.  Cozi helps you get things done by managing day-to-day activities with a centralized online calendar.  You can even put your shopping list and even a family journal that the family can share and post.
There is a color-coded calendar so everyone can easily see what is going on with everyone’s schedule for the day or week.  There is a feature to send appointment reminders and email the weekly agenda.  And if you already have a calendar in place with Outlook or Google – you can link them together, or use one of the Cozi mobile apps.

I think the Cozi system just might be the answer I have been searching for!  The more organized I am with our day-to-day schedule, the better off everyone will be.  This means we won’t have last minute trips to the store like we had last night because I forgot to tell my husband we needed cat food.  The kitties need to eat of course – so off he went after a long day at work!  And as my daughter gets older, this will be a great way to keep her mindful of letting us know her schedule and events she has planned.
So make sure to check out this FREE service from Cozi and keep the entire family in the loop!
