Latest & Greatest :: Pigeon Presents… Mo on the Go App!
By now most everyone on the planet has heard of Mo Williams classic tales! Three of Willems’ books have been awarded a Caldecott Honor: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (2004), Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (2005), and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity (2008).[10] Recently he has been creating the Elephant and Piggie books, an early reader series about a friendly elephant and pig. Elephant and Piggie books won the Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal in 2008 and 2009, and Geisel Honors in 2011, 2012, and 2013.[11] In 2010, Willems introduced a new series of books featuring Cat the Cat, also aimed at early readers. Well, he has just come out with a fun new app called Pigeon Presents…Mo on the Go! Here we are able to interact with Mo himself as an option. The first page opens up and we have several categories to play which include: Monster Maker, Dream Drive, Sticker Pictures, Dance-O-Rama, Sticker Vault, Boring Stuff and a moving image of Mo himself entitled Mo’s Squillems. We chose to see what Mo’s Squillems was all about. When we touch the screen, he closes his eye and remarks Owww like we just poked him in the eye. What a fun idea and one the kids will surely get a kick out of! The Mo’s Squillems offers us a chance to Draw With Mo, Draw With a Pal, Meet Mo. We chose to Meet Mo and he appears on the screen and tells us that we will be drawing something together – just use your imagination! Just like his stories, this app is whimsical and quite fun!
Mo’s newest app, Pigeon Presents…Mo on the Go!, is now available on iTunes and Nook, complete with games from Mo himself… and also created by YOU! Three-time Caldecott honoree Mo Willems invites you to join some of his most beloved characters in this collection of entertaining games and activities to play anywhere, anytime! In Pigeon Presents…Mo on the Go!, kids can also draw along with Mo in the app during a one-on-one lesson. We really enjoyed the Monster Maker and made lots of funny and crazy-looking monsters. I really enjoyed the one that had Mo Williams head in an astronaut hat giving his best scary roar and look!
Additional features include:
- Watch as Mo demonstrates how to transform a scribble into a work of art
- Share your masterpieces with friends or store them in your sticker vault
- Create a terrifying—or hilarious—monster with Leonardo
- Do the Jumbo Gumbo, the Piggie Jiggie, and tons more funky moves
- Let the Pigeon drive the bus…in his dreams!
Pigeon Presents…Mo on the Go! is now available on iTunes for $3.99 and Nook for $2.99.
Also, be sure to check out Mo’s newest coffee table book by Disney Editions, “Don’t Pigeonhole Me!: Two Decades of the Mo Willems Sketchbook,” available wherever books are sold. Featuring a foreword by Eric Carle and an introduction by Mo, this volume includes all twenty sketchbooks from the last two decades revealing the author/illustrator at his most truthful, most experimental, most grown-up. Most Mo.

My son was bringing Mo Willems books home from the library last year in school – done by age group etc. My daughter had a fit b/c she LOVED the Elephant and Piggie books and that right there hooked her for 1st grade so she will be able to check them out too *lol* and my son really enjoys the Pigeon books but his fave seems to be Edwina (the dinosaur) what can I say … dinosaurs *haha* … ALL of the books are IMO awesome and hard to choose from. This is one of a dozen (maybe two) that really get kids and can write to their level (you’re another Melissa!!!) 🙂 Thanks for this awesome giveaway (as always)!
