Dandelion Moms Project Kindness :: September
What is dandelion moms project kindness?
We created this project in order to help spread more joy and kindness out into the world. Much like dandelion seeds blown into the wind, you can never know where your acts of kindness might land and how much they will impact someone. We feature individuals, companies and nonprofits who are working hard to bring joy, kindness and help to those in need. Please join us if you can and help in any way you are able.
Dandelion Moms Project Kindness for September:
Childhood cancer is one of the most scary things to even think about for a parent. I have had many a sleepless night worrying about something happening to my child – it just goes with the territory of being a parent I think. I have had friends whose children have gone through cancer treatment, one of whom was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only 12 months old. She received treatment and is doing great, but there were some young patients the family met who went through treatment with her and did not make it.
This month is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. I thought it would be wonderful if we could help spread the word about this and help in any way we can! Please share this post, write a post about it, join in a Walk-a-Thon that is raising money for childhood cancer treatment, or raise money with a bake sale and donate to the charity of your choice. There are many ways to help spread the word and help get more attention to the fact that only 4% of money raised for cancer treatment goes into children cancer research!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
I found this very informative illustration of WHY we need Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, WHO is being affected, and HOW you can help from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Please join with us this month and spread the word. Some ideas on how you can help include:
Have a Bake Sale and donate to your local children’s cancer hospital or charity of your choice
Ask your local children’s cancer hospital if they are of need of any new blankets, toys or books for their patients.
Write a post about childhood cancer awareness month on your blog or post on Facebook.
Join in a Walk-a-Thon in your area who are raising money for Childhood Cancers.

It is great to see Dandelion Moms spreading the word to increase awareness of Childhood Cancers. There are so many kids fighting for their lives today and too many families mourning the loss of their precious children. I hope people will jump in your September challenge and give of their time or money or by donating blood and getting on the bone marrow registry!
