Latest & Greatest :: Daniel Tiger’s Day & Night
We love how adorable Daniel Tiger is and the lessons he teaches on his show Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood! On yesterdays episode, Daniel Tiger celebrated Neighbor Day and demonstrated how important it is to be kind to others. We joined in on the fun and made some cookies and brought over flowers for our neighbors. My daughter loved doorbell ditching and leaving the treats at their doorsteps! But I knew she was learning an important life lesson from Daniel Tiger (and mom) about treating others the way we would want to be treated!
In Daniel Tiger’s Day and Night app, we are able to interact with Daniel Tiger and learn more about morning and bedtime routines. Using song and games, the app helps children know what is expected of them and helps them move towards doing these routines smoothly and independently. I think this is such a great app that can really help teach our kids learn what they should be doing to get ready in the morning and at bedtime. I sure wish I had this when my daughter was little(er).
The first page opens up and Daniel Tiger asks us to tap on the sun or moon which signifies Good Morning or Good Night activities. We started with the morning activity and we are told to nudge Daniel awake. The first time we nudge him, he giggles and goes back to sleep – cute! The second time he yawns and says hello. He asked us what are things we should do to get ready to go to school and what should he do first. We can choose between getting dressed (we interact with him and help him zip up his red sweater) then we eat breakfast, brush his teeth, put on shoes and off to school. With each activity we help him with – we are asked if we want to play make believe with him. When you push the spinning cloud in the far corner, Daniel Tiger becomes… SUPER DANIEL in a superhero costume and all! This will surely delight the little ones!
We really enjoyed playing this fun app that can really help parents teach their kids about what their “job” is in getting ready for either school or at bedtime. There are catchy songs and activities to do throughout the app. There are quite a bit of fun interaction with Daniel Tiger and he is constantly engaging the reader. You can’t go wrong with this adorable little tiger!
