Play :: DIY Halloween Crafts
We just love Halloween around our house and already put up some decorations much to the dismay of my husband. As my daughter, her friend from the neighborhood and I were hanging spider webs around the trees, we were giggling that “dad” was going to think we were crazy for decorating so early. And no big surprise that when he came home that night, his first response was “Really? On September 12th – we have Halloween decorations?” I just smiled and blamed it on Kate and her friends that they were too excited and so I just had to do it for them… My love for Halloween stems from childhood and it is still one of my favorite holidays. I love to decorate the outside of the house for the neighborhood (and us) to enjoy – even if it a tad early for some (husband)! I found some fun DIY crafts and décor ideas you can make and use at your upcoming Halloween party. Have a spooky good time!
Ruffled Spider Family:
These spooky but super cute spider family comes from Clean & Scentsible.com. She provides a step by step tutorial on how to make each of the spider family. These would be a fun craft to do with the kids! Read more here: https://www.cleanandscentsible.com/2012/10/ruffled-spider.html
Pumpkin Dart Board:
This idea comes from: https://tpt-fonts4teachers.blogspot.com/2013/02/awesome-arts-and-crafts-ideas-for-kids.html. It looks like they used a large foam board and either pinned the top of the balloon or taped them into a shape of a pumpkin. Add a green stem made out of craft paper and you are ready for a fun game! There are kid-safe darts you can purchase at your local sporting goods store that will do the trick.
Pumpkin Tombstone:
This idea comes from https://www.pinterest.com/DesigningStyle/halloween/. She has some really fun Halloween decor ideas! This spooky idea of putting a big spider, a tombstone and a skull all on top of a large pumpkin makes for one scary display! She added some moss you can find at your local crafts store and the branches you could probably find on your next nature walk!
Halloween Count Down Sign:
This great idea comes from Laura at Corner House Blog.com. She provides a step by step tutorial on how to make this adorable sign you can use for years to come! Just go to read more: https://www.iheartnaptime.net/halloween-count-down/. It adds to the excitement each day to count down to Halloween and can become a daily activity for the kids in the morning before school.
Recycled Haunted Houses:
This idea coms from Little Lovely.com and uses old newspapers and recycled milk cartons to make a fun and spooky haunted house! I don’t know how long the Reese’s pieces would stay as my little one would probably be making them disappear magically every day (in her mouth) but you could use this display at your Halloween party.
