What’s Hot in Southern California :: Sea Life Aquarium at LEGOLAND

This week we will be visiting LEGOLAND California Resort to help celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day on Thursday, the 19th.  There will be two Penelope readings, and I will be hosting our annual Talk Like a Pirate Facebook Party from one of the LEGOLAND Hotel pirate rooms and handing out pirate booty! One of the things I am most excited to see and explore is the Sea Life Aquarium at LEGOLAND.  The SEA LIFE Aquarium at LEGOLAND California Resort is home to more than 200 species of sea creatures that total to over 5,000 individual aquatic animals!  I love sea creatures and have been fascinated by crabs, octopuses, rays and especially seahorses since I was a little kid. Did you know that seahorses can swivel each of their eyes independently – so they can look forwards and backwards at the same time?  These fun facts are posted throughout the Aquarium and makes for a fun and educational experience!  Here are a list of things to do:

• Discovery Zone Touch Pool – touch the sea stars and crabs
• Discover over 5,000 creatures including sharks, rays, seahorses, clownfish & octopus
• Dive deep with the sharks! Walk through our 35-foot-long ocean tunnel and explore the Lost City of Atlantis, a 200,000 gallon ocean display featuring sharks, rays and a vast array of tropical fish
• Feeding demonstrations all day
• Follow our interactive quiz trail
• Join our conservation campaign
• Dine at the Ocean Journey Café and enjoy freshly prepared mini burgers, salads, macaroni and cheese, and more!
