DIY :: Holiday Centerpiece Design Ideas

We are planning on having some friends and family over to our place with the upcoming holidays and I wanted to find some unique centerpiece ideas that could be used for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Having a colorful centerpiece really does set the mood and shows you took some care to make the table setting look extra special! And aren’t the holidays about making those you love around you feel special.  I absolutely love all of these ideas and there is even a tutorial from Inspired By Charm who walks you through how to make a gorgeous centerpiece.  Have fun!

Shabby Chic Display:

I am in love with these wooden trays and have about 5 of them.  I use the round one I purchased at Anthropologie over 10 years ago for our fruit and have not had a use for the others.  But what a great idea – to use it as a centerpiece for the holidays – or really any time of the year!  To read more go to Home Talk.com.

Autumn Colors:

This is such a beautiful centerpiece.  Blogger Elizabeth and Co. uses flowers and leaves in this display.  Just find a nice runner and place the pumpkins, gourds and other colorful items running down the center and voila – you have a gorgeous centerpiece!  To read more go to Elizabeth and Co.

Happy Pumpkins:

I love this idea because I know the kids would get a kick out of it!  And the antique platter and cake trays look great to display these cute pumpkins.  Image found on Pinterest.

Summer + Autumn:

This is a great idea – especially if you are in to Shabby Chic designs or live by the seaside.  Or if you just like the sea!  You probably have some seashells from your last trip to the beach or you can always purchase them at JoAnn or Michaels.  Image found on Pinterest.

Succulents Always Look Great:

I am a big fan of succulents and love this idea from Yummy Yummy Kitchen!  What a fun idea to mix succulents, pinecones and white pumpkins.  You can use this display all year round and mix in various tidbits you find from your nature walks.  To read more go to Yummy Yummy Kitchen.com.

 Mix and Match Colors:

I love these ideas from Inspired By Charm.  He provides a step-by-step tutorial beginning with what type of tray you can use to suggestions on where to purchase these gorgeous vases (Target).  To read more go to Inspired By Charm.com.

Whichever one you choose to use as your centerpiece, make sure to involve the kids and have them help pick out the different types of pumpkin and gourds as well as pinecones and leaves.  Enjoy the upcoming holidays with your friends and family.
