Recipes :: Delicious Soups for Fall

Tis the season for soups that can be enjoyed as a side dish or as the main course.  I love this time of year and we actually turned on our natural gas fireplace the other day when we had some cold weather!  I was about the happiest bug around and can’t wait to try out some yummy soups to enjoy next time we have some cold weather!  You could serve these soups at your next dinner party as the pumpkins or squash look so pretty as the serving bowls.  Enjoy the chilly weather with a nice bowl of homemade soup.  Yum!

Sweet Italian and Vegetable Soup:

This is the first soup I plan to make!  Love the greens they include as well as the garbanzo beans and sausages.  This looks delicious – so much so that after my husband saw me writing this post – he is heading to the store to get the ingredients so we can make this one tonight!  Can’t wait to try it out.  To read how to make this hearty soup go to Well Fed.

Orzo, Delicata Squash and Chicken Soup with Sage

I love this combination of squash and chicken.  Squash is rich in B-complex group of vitamins like folate, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), thiamin, and pantothenic acid. Plus this recipe doesn’t look like it will take forever to make.  I love how soups can be enjoyed for days after as they tend to taste better even the next day.  To read more go to Williams-Sonoma.
