Fashion :: Get Your Holiday Groove On!
I hope you have the opportunity and make the time this holiday season to get all dolled up! With all that we busy moms are doing every day for every one else in the family, I think it does a girl good to be excited about an upcoming holiday party that allows you to pull out the fancy clothes, coats and jewelry! And it doesn’t need to cost you the bank – especially if you plan ahead! We have holiday party this weekend and my husband and I are planing to head off to dinner beforehand. I am excited about getting my hair styled and wear the new dress I found at our local resale boutique that I purchased for a real bargain. I have everything else – the shiny red clutch that Kate Spade designed years ago (an anniversary present) that still is in style, the black patent shoes I purchased for a summer wedding, and my fancy costume jewelry that I usually get at estate sales. That is what I mean by planning – think ahead about what you think the dress code might be at the office party, friend’s holiday party and go check out your local resale boutique as well as even Target! Yes, Target has some great holiday fashion for kids and women. There is a sample below of what they are have to offer this holiday season from one of their stylists – so make sure to check it out. Enjoy your dress-up party ladies! Even if you get dolled up for a dinner at home with the family – it does a mind good to focus on you for a change!
Pretty in red:
Who doesn’t want a red pair of shoes? I sure do and just might have to put these on a wish list! These red shoes make the whole outfit and love the polka dot dress! I love how Shop for Fun mixed in both greens and reds to give a very festive outfit. The even list where to purchase each of the items above. Though it is a bit pricy, you can get some ideas of what works with what! To read more go to Shop for Fun.
Invest in the Basics:
What I love about this outfit that Musings of a Housewife put together – is most of us have that little black dress hanging in our closet! You can add a pretty shawl and some neutral heels to finish the outfit. And don’t forget about this wonderful red handbag. That is why I begged for the Kate Spade red clutch years ago as an anniversary present because it is something you can pull out of the closet and wear to special occasions for years to come. I received mine over six years ago and it’s a keeper! Mix and match the shawl and shoes. Check your local Target for heels! To read more go to Musings of a Housewife.
Go to Target for your Holidays Wear:
These outfits were put together by the blogger at Glitter Inc. She is one of Target’s stylists and all of these items are from Target! You really don’t need to spend too much to look pulled together and you know how reasonable Target prices are! To read more about these items go to Glitter Inc.
Bring on the Sparkle:
Ladies just look good in sparkle and shine! I know most of these costume pieces can be found at many department stores and stores like Costco, Walmart, Marshalls and Target. It is good to get an idea of what looks good together and then go out and search for some unique pieces for a bargain. I like this outfit by Hello Little One because you look pulled together but I bet you will be the most comfortable woman at the party with this outfit! To read more go to Hello Little One
Add some color:
Women really do great in red and it is such the perfect color for the holidays. Seriously, blondes, brunettes, and women with black hair all look fabulous in red – so make sure you have at least one piece in your closet for these special occasions! It can be a handbag, shoes, or a gorgeous dress like this one! Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores and they have an adorable red dress right now they are selling online! Just saying! Love the black shoes and leopard print bag – they look amazing together! Though I can’t do heels this high – I would look quite awkward – but you can find stylish shoes that won’t make you tumble over while walking. I found my Vince Camuto black leather pumps that are less than 3 inch high at Macy’s. They have great shoe sales! To read more go to Cup Half Full.
Did I mention to add red?
Oh, I think I did several times… but you can see why! You walk in the door with this outfit on and I think all eyes will be on you! This is such a pretty red and love how they combined this faux fur coat that you can layer on top of the dress. Again, if you can hang with super high heels – go for it – but if you are looking for some a bit shorter – they are easy to find – just be on the lookout when shopping this holiday season. For the Office Party:
Look Stylish at the Office Party:
What a great combination of casual and sparkle. The shoes are great and you can add a heel to take you into another event. Also, love the hairstyle! If you don’t have a fun clutch – you must as it can used for many a holiday party and it never really goes out of style. To read more go to Shop For Fun.
