Gorgeous Holiday Table Setting Ideas
Part of making the holidays extra special is setting the mood and creating a beautiful table for your holiday meal that shows that you took some extra care for your loved ones. I know it made me so happy to see our Thanksgiving table set up with the help of my daughter with some simple decorations that she helped me make. We made some birch tree covered candle holders that literally took us five minutes to make and cost no money! Minus the tea candle we put in the glass artichoke jar I saved from Trader Joes!
You can use these birch tree covered vases and candle holders any time of the year!
We also covered two Ikea glass jars with birch wood that was filled with roses from our garden and gifted one to my mother-in-law for Hanukkah and it really looked wonderful at the table I must say! We found some easy to do ideas that won’t break the bank and you can probably find most of these items laying around your house. Have fun making your holiday table look extra pretty!
You can’t go wrong with beautiful greenery:
What a gorgeous centerpiece! This looks like a mix of moss, succulents and herbs. I love how they placed a single leaf of a succulent on each plate. And the menu sitting by each plate adds some fun to the table. It reminds me of what you would see at a fancy wedding! Image courtesy of The World of Cornelia Guest.
Add some Christmas cheer:
I love how Mai Dae brought some green in from her backyard. You can take a walk around your neighborhood to see what might be fitting for a holiday table setting. My daughter and I will do that in our neighborhood when gifting flowers to friends and family and it is fun to see what mix of bouquet of flowers we come up with. She uses brown construction paper as the tablecloth and writes her guest names at each setting. To see more go to Mai Dae website.
A Modern Take:
If you are a fan of Modern design, you will love Anne Sage’s blog! She demonstrates that less is more and offers some fun ideas for a festive table. I really like how she uses branches and berry leaves on each place setting. And how unique to put some reindeer antlers as part of the centerpiece. Add some color:
Berry is one of my favorite colors and this looks fantastic! You probably have some vases around that you can use – and they don’t need to all match – that even might make it look more interesting I think! You could either use some branches you find on your next nature walk, or use some artificial ones you can find at your local craft store. Don’t forget to add these little birds to add the final touches. Read more at Acco Kitchen and Bath.
A Banquet Style Dinner:
What a gorgeous idea! Love how she framed a chalkboard in this gorgeous gold frame. This would be great to do if you are serving dinner banquet style. She just added a simple wreath and her tableware and that is it! Oh, and don’t forget to see if you have a chalkboard you can borrow from the kids playroom to use. If you don’t have time to get it framed – why not put some greenery around the edges! To read more go to South Shore Decorating.
Add color and more color:
I think this might be my favorite table setting because she brings in flowers, pomegranate seeds, yummy cheeses and nuts as part of the display. What a gorgeous idea! It just goes to show you that you don’t need to spend a bundle and buy items you can only use at Christmas time. This vase was probably sitting around her apartment and of course the food just adds to the display. You could find most of these flowers and magnolia leaves at most nurseries. To read more of her wonderful ideas go to Apartment 34.
It’s all in the details:
I wanted to show this idea because it really is so simple to add at the last minute but really adds alot to the table setting. How pretty and inexpensive to add a pop of color and holiday cheer! Image courtesy of Photo Bucket.
For the Kids:
I have seen these pencils around town and just love how they look in this holiday table setting. She uses construction paper as the place setting so if the kids get tired of hanging out at the table, they have something fun to do to keep them busy. They can take turns drawing Santa or Frosty, or even a game of tic-tac-toe! To read more go to Yahoo.
Don’t forget Frosty!
What a fun idea! This would not be very tough to set up – just add a carrot for the nose, two raisins for the eyes, and a cute little napkin for the scarf, and you have a fun and unique table setting for the kids. To read more go to Decoration of Home.
