Recipes :: Fabulous Birthday Party Treats
It seems like birthdays come in bunches. Over the summer we had a ton of birthday parties to attend and over the next two weeks we have no less than five (including my own, which will forever be my 28th – even when I am 80). There must be something in the water to get all these summer and winter babies! We joke in our neighborhood because all the kids are either July or August babies! There are so many fun ways to decorate your child’s birthday party and you can find a ton of ideas on Pinterest! I highly recommend you check Pinterest out after finding out what theme they want. Last year we had a carnival-themed/pool party and I was able to get some great ideas that didn’t cost very much to incorporate into the party. Plus, it gives you some time to see what you might already have around the house to use at the party. My daughter has requested a Minecraft birthday party for her next birthday party, so I definitely plan to check out what clever ideas the mom bloggers on Pinterest have come up with. For your next party, why not add some colorful and tasty treats that all can enjoy. I really like the treats that have those colorful little beads – like the pretzel sticks and the chocolate cookie sandwich. Enjoy!
Flower Patch Cupcakes:
What a fun spring or summer birthday party idea. Or really any time of year if your daughter enjoys flowers. These would be great at a tea-party themed party! To read how to make these flower cupcakes go to Better Homes and Garden.
Ice Cream Cookie:
We have made these yummy ice cream cookies a couple times with vanilla ice cream. You can just use your favorite cookie recipe and ice cream. Just make sure that the cookies are cooled before placing the ice cream inside! We made that mistake once because we were so excited to try them out! Best if you freeze them first. Circus Animal Cookie Truffles:
As a kid, the circus animal cookies were my absolute favorite! My brother and I would pick through the bag of cookies to see what circus animal’s head you were going to bite off. It’s kind of like asking people how they eat an Oreo cookie. Do you eat the top cookie first, then the filling or do you eat it bite by bite? You know how kids get excited over the little things! This is a great idea to incorporate into any themed party – especially a circus theme! To read more go to Kailleys Kitchen.
Birthday Fun Cup Treats:
This is a fun idea using rice krispies cereal. Their website is a great resource for ideas! To read how to make these yummy treats go to Rice Krispies.
Cupcake Balloons:
This is a really fun idea that goes with any birthday theme! You all know I am a sucker for balloons so of course I tried this out one year for my daughter’s 5th birthday party. It is really easy to make – just use vanilla frosting and separate some in a couple bowls – then add food coloring of your choice and voila – you have some colorful cupcakes. I used ribbon as the string and tied it in a big bow. I think this was before the movie UP but I do like this cute idea. Image found on Pinterest.
Chocolate Sprinkles Sticks:
My daughter’s teacher made these for the kids as a holiday treat and used candy cane as the sprinkles. The blogger who made these for her child’s 4th birthday party said they are super easy to make. I love how they add a lot of fun and color! To read how to make your own chocolate covered pretzels go to FYNES Designs.
Sheep Cake Pops:
I have yet to try making cake pops but I hear they are really easy to do. These were just too cute and had to add them. They would be great at a baby shower as well! To read how to make your own Sheep Cake Pops go to Healthy Lunch Recipes.
Caramel Apple Truffles:
I added these because they looked delicious and I am sure the adults at the party would appreciate a little caramel apple truffle to munch on while the kids run wild! Read how to make these yummy treats at Shugary Sweets.
