8 Delicious St. Patrick’s Day Snack and Lunch Ideas
St. Patrick’s Day is almost here! You don’t want to miss out on taking advantage of this fun holiday next month! There are so many fun ideas to incorporate into recipes, pranks (try green dye in the toilet bowl for some laughs), activities (read my Leprechaun Hunt post from last year here), and décor ideas. Here are some delicious ideas to try out with your kids lunch. Or if you have a toddler at home you can try out the tin muffin idea! Have fun!
A Rainbow of Health:
This is a delicious bento box idea from Jewel Maker. She uses fresh vegetables to make the food dyes so the kids get the added bonus of some vegetable juices which they probably won’t even notice (great if you have a picky eater). To read how to make your own Rainbow Bento Box go here.
A Cookie Cutter Green Lunch:
This is a fun idea if you have a toddler at home or home school. She uses little clover cookie cutters to make her sandwiches and kiwi fruit clover. You can add some other green foods if you don’t want to give them the Andes chocolate pieces. To read more go to Cookie Cutter Lunch.
Don’t Forget the Leprechaun!
This is another fun idea from Cookie Cutter Lunch blog. She uses carrots to make a cute beard and cucumbers for the body. To read how to make your own Leprechaun go here.
A Pot of Gold (or chicken nuggets) at the End of the Rainbow:
What a great idea from Meaningful Mama! Love how she incorporates fresh fruit, plain yogurt and some yummy chicken nuggets for the snack or lunch idea. To read how to make this pot of gold go here.
A True Delight:
This is a fun idea that can be made for school. It looks like they used wheat tortilla’s for the hat and a plain cracker for the body, with some melted cheese on top that acts as the beard. An easy recipe to try out for school days. Image found on Pinterest.
Rainbow Flatbread Pizza
This looks so yummy and gorgeous I want to make this today! What beautiful display of healthy treats that the entire family might like! You can precut the vegetables prior to baking and have the kids pick and choose their favorite vegetables. To read how to make your own go to Sulia.
Build Your Own Fruit Bar:
Love this idea of creating your own fruit bar! This idea would be great for an after-school snack or even at your next party. To read more go to Getting A Healthy Body.
Shamrock Cucumber Sandwiches:
These just might my favorite idea! She uses whole-wheat English Muffins for the bottom and a mix of cream cheese and cheese for the center and tops it off with fresh cucumber slices. And don’t forget the Italian parsley for the top. To read how to make these for your next party or school lunch go to Will Cook For Smiles.
