Adorable DIY Valentine’s Day Gifts
The following Valentine’s Day gifts are ones you can make with the kids to hand out to family members (most everyone loves home-made gifts), neighbors, teachers, friends and your significant other. I love involving my daughter when making holiday gifts and might have to try out a couple of these fun ideas. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
A Succulent Valentine:
I absolutely love succulents! And they make wonderful gifts! This is a fun idea from A Night Owl Blog that is really easy to make. Though according to Feng Shui principles – it is best to avoid cacti in the house or garden. Plus little fingers might get hurt. For good luck – fill these containers with round-leaf succulents that can be found at your local nursery. To read how to make these go here.
Chalkboard Painted Valentines Mug:
This is such a cute idea from wit and whistle and really easy to make. You can give these mugs to your child’s teacher, friend or husband. I love this idea of chalkboard painted mugs because every morning you can write a silly message. My husband and I are big on sending #hashtag expressions to each other on our iPhone (think Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon “Hashtag” skit) so I think this might be on my Valentine’s Day list. Check out the tutorial here:
A Sweet Idea:
This would a fun gift to give to a child or their teacher. The Plaid Palette has some other DIY Valentine’s Day ideas here.
Antique Painted Mason Jars:
This is such a simple idea but is such a pretty way to display your Valentine’s Day flowers. And they would look wonderful at a garden or tea party for the coming spring. I found this image on Pinterest.
Scrabble Coasters:
This idea from Intimate Weddings is a great wedding gift as well as a Valentine’s Day gift. To read how to make this clever idea go here.
DIY Valentines Day Burlap Gift Bags:
This would be a great gift to hand out to friends and neighbors. My daughter just loves hand-delivering any treats we make for the neighbors and this might be on our list this year. I am a big fan of burlap and this would be a really simple – and adorable gift bag to fill with little chocolates. To read how to make these bags go to The Casual Craftlete.
DIY Stencil Pillow:
Wit and Whistle featured this clever Valentine’s Day gift that Becky Howe created that can be enjoyed by the whole family. You can come up with your fun expressions why you love your spouse and family. I might just pen #Hashtag on a pillow and laugh every time I see it in our living room.
A String of Hearts:
These would look really cute in a child’s room! All Free Crafts has a list of fun Valentine’s Day ideas you can try out this year. To read how to make these go here.
