Gems are usually seen as aspects of beautiful pieces of ornamental jewelry that adorn lucky men and women. Gems are pleasing to the eye and have thus been worn by a countless number of people over the years, but also have other uses not so commonly attributed. Gems and some other precious elements have also been used for thousands of years as healing stones to treat several types of physical and mental ailments. Those who take advantage of gems in this way believe that the energy that was necessary to craft the stone out of the Earth’s natural elements is embodied in the gem.

Some other natural items used for jewelry, like coral and silver, are also believed to have similarly curative properties. Because different types of stones and natural items require different physical circumstances to be created, every type of gem or natural precious material contains a different form of energy that can be harnessed to address many real problems.

How are gems related to my Well Being?

Gems are commonly used to align the seven chakras. Chakras refer to the different types of energies we all hold in ourselves that influence the way we think and feel. Many believe that most physical and mental problems are caused by an imbalance of the seven chakras.

The seven chakras are associated with different gems according to their colors; for example, a red gem helps you connect to the physical world and maximize your physical and mental strength. According to the ideals of gem healing, adorning jewelry with red gemstones or keeping a red rubbing stone with you will help you feel more grounded and strong than you have been feeling lately.

What makes gems good healing stones?

Gems are created when incredibly strong natural forces bring certain elements together, producing an eye-pleasing stone. The tiny crystals that make up the stones are in constant movement, emitting a radiofrequency wave and energy frequency due to this movement. This field is different based on the stone’s geometric form, color, and finishing.

The color of the stone is especially important because the play of light in the stone has a direct effect on how we interact with the stone and whether it has calming, strengthening, healing, or other effects. It is no wonder that these stones can influence our health – it is almost as if these stones are alive themselves!
