Fashion :: Update Your Spring Wardrobe With Some Fun Pieces

Spring has sprung? Hmm. The calendar says Spring is here but the temps across the country (and even here in SoCal) don’t seem to be following the seasonal plan. It is actually colder here than it has been in weeks! While the weather is not neccesssarily cooperating, I am still excited and looking forward to the warmer temps and the change in wardrobe. I always find myself challenged as the seasons change and winter to spring is certainly no exception. It can be a little tricky to transition your wardrobe so it’s important to have pieces that can take you from one season to the next. The looks you will see in this post are not only trends for spring 2014 but styles that should also carry you through the upcoming seasons (spring & summer). Jumpsuits are a HUGE category and I find them not only extremely comfortable but I also can transition from casual to dressy very easily.
I like that this one has a little sleeve (when it’s not so warm yet) and the stud detail is cool. Studded v-neck jumpsuit Michael by Michael Kors available at Nordstrom.
When the temps do heat up, this will be perfect for daytime, just as it is shown, with the flat sandal.
You can also take it into evening by adding this rose gold wedge. I am in love with the color of this shoe! Tinley Road Brooke jumpsuit available at Piperlime. Banana Republic Miah wedge in rose gold.
If this top does not yell spring time, I don’t know what does. Pink and floral are both trends for spring. This gorgeous top, covers it all. The lighter wash jean also brightens it up. Pink floral embroidered top and jeans available at J Crew.
I thought this was also such a perfect way to transition into spring when it is not so warm. A “white”, or even better ecru, jacket as shown here is a great additon to your closet as it can be worn with so many things. The fun scarf will also will keep you cozy. Ecru jacket, scarf, top and jeans all available at J Crew.
Chambray is another fabric that looks great for Spring. I like the idea of representing it in a fun shirt dress.
Pair this necklace with it to make it super chic. Chambray dress available at Banana Republic. Sabine art deco necklace available at Piperlime.
This style is hot for spring. Looks great with a white tank or a pretty blouse. I absolutely love it. So comfortable and flattering. Aqua lace/silk pant available at Bloomingdales.
This may be one of my favorite “trends” right now. I have been a huge fan of fun sneakers for a long time. This style is comfortable and hip. I like that the slip on sneakers have a thick sole for added height. Dolce Vita Zoren 2 available at Bloomingdales. The original maker of this style is Vans. You can customize your own pair on their website (vans.com). Love that!! I found this gold pair at J. Crew.
This is definitely making its way into my closet. Rachel Pally is known for her soft flowing and ever so comfortable dresses. Again the sleeve on this will take you from cooler to warmer temps. Rachel Pally caftan dress at Zappos.com also available in black, fiji, and ivy.
