Disney’s The Pirate Fairy Review and Giveaway

We were so excited to see the new Disney Pirate Fairy movie this past week and ran out and purchased a copy at our local Walmart, got our popcorn and peanut MM’s and watched it three times in a row that day!  Hey, I figured we were on spring break so why not?! I really like that they have a pirate fairy as the main character and that we learn about the beginnings of Captain Hook, the alligator who relentlessly chases Capt. Hook, and why does their pirate ship float?

The Pirate Fairy is a 3D computer-animated fantasy film directed by Peggy Holmes and is the fifth film in the DisneyToon Studios’ Tinker Bell series.  Based on the character Tinker Bell from J.M.Barrie’s Peter and Wendy. Tinker Bell is played by Mae Whitman and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) is the new dust-keeper fairy named Zarina. The film was released on home media April 1, 2014.

The star of the film, Zarina is very gifted and quite inquisitive pixie-dust talent fairy.  She is determined to learn more about pixie dust and what it is capable of – only to the dismay to her boss, Fairy Gary.  Zarina experiments even after Fairy Gary he warned her not to experiment with the blue pixie dust which causes havoc on Pixie Hollow.  She is prohibited from working with pixie dust and she decides to leave Pixie Hollow.  One of the things I really liked about the movie was the journey Zarina, the pirate fairy, takes to learn the importance of true friendship. I don’t want to get into too much details about the story, but I enjoyed the storyline and fans of Peter Pan will love to see what Capt. Hook looked like as a young man and why the alligator just doesn’t like him!  We even learn why he ticks!

Isn't he just adorable?!

This is one of my favorite Tinker Bell movies for several reasons.  Like I mentioned, we learn about Capt. Hook and his crew, and why their pirate ship can float!  And of course, we are big fans of anything to do with pirates and I feel this film was really well made.  The pirates are all characters and bring some pirate-fun to the movie.

The graphics are wonderful as you can see as we sail into Captain Hook’s home base.  There aren’t really any scary parts so I think this movie would be fine for toddlers.  The movie shows the importance of team work, finding your way and the meaning of true friendship.  We are fans that is for sure and I have a feeling this movie will be a go-to movie on many nights!

We have one The Pirate Fairy Blu-ray + DVD Digital HD combo to hand out! Good luck dandelion moms!
