Dwell :: Fun Ways to use Dough Bowls in the Home

New uses for old things. Love mixing antiques with modern décor!

A few years back I found this awesome dough bowl at a garage sale and have been wondering how best to use it in my home.  I love how versatile it can be and you can change it up season by season.  While I am still debating about how best to use it in my home, for now, it will hold some of my favorite home décor magazines.  Mixing antiques with modern décor is one of my favorite looks and I think the wooden dough bowls go with just about any style – from shabby-chic, modern, bohemian, to even traditional – depending on what you put inside it can add so much to your home.  Enjoy!

A Bowl for Many Seasons:

One of the many things I love about these wooden dough bowls is their versatility.  You can change the decorations according to the season.  This would be gorgeous around the holidays don’t you think? Found on digs digs.

Stack ’em up:

I like how they used a wooden tray to hold more wooden bowls!  This would be really cute at your next dinner party! Idea found on digs digs.

Mixing Modern and Antiques = love

Our house décor lends itself more to modern design, but I absolutely love the look of mixing antiques with modern pieces.  Lots of fun ideas can be found on digs digs.

Make Your Own Tray:

How clever and creative is the blogger over at Craft Berry Bush!  She made this “wooden” tray out of Styrofoam!  Amazing really!  Love how she put it all together! A tutorial can be found on Craft Berry Bush.

Just hanging around:

This is such a fun idea!  I love how she used hooks to put them up on the wall and even put some inside the bowls to hold lanterns.  Very clever! Check out the really cute site Hammers and High Heels for more inspiration!

Wash up:

What another clever idea!  You would need to make sure you add some specialized sealer to the wood – but this is such a cute bathroom.  Love it! Image found on Pinterest.
