Dwell :: Tween Bedroom Décor Ideas

How in the world is it possible my little one is turning nine this summer?!  It truly goes by too fast!  We are working on our list of fun ideas to do over the summer break and one of these include redoing her bedroom.  So off I went to look for décor ideas that won’t break the bank but would update her bedroom. Hope you enjoy these ideas!  I’ll keep you posted on our redo.

 Mix and Match:

Besides that adorable rug, I really like this room because they mixed in funky bedside table alongside the white bed.  I love the look of a room that has a mix of furniture styles.  Found on land of nod blog.  They have the cutest items – I’m warning you – you just might fall in love with their site!

 Add in Color:

I tend to lean more on the clean look (less clutter) but one of the things I really like about this room is the use of colorful fabrics.  And the books used for décor on the window pane looks fabulous!  And I must find out where they got those tree trunks – love how they are using them as a bedside table! Can be found at Decoist.

Polka Dots are always fun:

If my daughter would let me, her whole room would be in polka dots. That isn’t happening anytime soon – but if your daughter or son is a fan of polka dots make sure to get the peel off and on ones found on Amazon.  I really like how they used them to showcase the framed pictures.  More ideas can be found on Houzz.

Instruments as Art:

What struck me about this room is the guitar on the wall which helps keep the clutter off the floor and also the adorable map desk.  You could find an old desk at a garage sale, paint it white and add some maps to the front and you are set!  Very cool! Check out the really fun site Finding Home Online – they have some great ideas for Tween Bedrooms!

Don’t need to break the bank:

This fun room was designed by a blogger over at Project Nursery.  She provides a step-by-step tutorial to get this room without breaking the bank.  My kind of girl! Find this room at Project Nursery!  They will have lots of party and décor ideas for your home.
