6 Must-Have Summer Fashion Essentials

We are right in the midst of summer and boy, is it hot here! We have been getting record breaking heat wave after heat wave on top of it being unusually humid. Normally that humidity is saved for the south but we have been getting some strange tropical weather lately. That being said, how do we stay cool and look good? Here are some of my favorite summer essentials that any girl needs in her closet!

A Wood Watch

Yes, you heard me right, a wood watch from JORD is the latest fashion trend. I absolutely adore mine and get more compliments on it that about any piece of jewelry I’ve worn. And the best thing about this watch is how light it is. There are a ton of gorgeous woods to choose from like the Rosewood watch with a Teal face (my future holiday gift to myself) and the one I chose is the Ely watch made out of Maple with a natural face.

So we designed a product that is as unique to the wearer down to the grain of the wood, it is more for a fashion statement than a watch to read the time. Although, the bonus is, they are very fashionable, conversation starters, and they do read the time! “

I get compliments on mine all the time and I absolutely love how light it is! Especially in this heat we are having it is a great fashion statement but not bothersome at all!

A Tunic:

I love wearing tunics with jeans or even as a pool or beach cover-up. Some of my favorite companies who offer gorgeous tunics are Calypso and Roberta Roller Rabbit. They are really versatile and there are so many beautiful Indian-inspired prints. I have to say my linen blue striped one from Calypso has held up wonderfully through the years.

White Pants:

Yes, you heard me – white pants! I have to be honest, this is the first white pair of jeans by Michael Kors that I actually like to wear. Plus, I am digging the torn pant look we are seeing this season. Since there is only a few weeks left of summer, you should be able to get a pair for a steal. A Straw Bag:

I adore baskets! A friend brought me back a basket from France and I use it for just about everything. From heading to the Farmers Market on the weekends to a trip to the pool or beach – this baby needs to be part of your wardrobe! You can find a huge selection on Amazon.

Cool Shades:

There is just something about a great pair of glasses that can make just about any outfit. Lately, I have been on the hunt for a great pair of gold Aviators at our local resale boutique. Be sure to get a good quality pair – it is worth the investment, really! About a year ago, during my eye exam, the optomologist asked me if I wear my glasses alot. I told her I tend to be senstivie to light so I wear them all the time. So if you see me wearing them inside you know I am not just trying to look cool! She said she can tell when people are wearing glasses because of the color of the back of the eye is pink and healthy. So save up and take care of those pearly green, hazel, blue or brown eyes ladies!

Sandals

My new favorite sandals are the Birkenstock Gizeh Thong sandal and White Mountain Cliff’s Angie Sandal. I found the Birkenstock’s online at Amazon and the silver pair goes with just about anything. I get a lot of compliments on these shoes as well and let me tell you, they are super comfortable! I even wore them to a Knott’s Berry Farm media event a few months back and did a ton of walking. I love shoes that look good but more importantly give you the support your feet need! I am also loving these gold Cliff sandals I picked up at Marshalls for about $10!
