We like to involve our pets in all of the holidays. From making sure they have some goodies from Santa to dressing them up for Halloween, we like to have some fun with our furry family! What about you? Do your pets let you dress them up? We like to dress up our cat, Buddy, anytime of the year really as he is usually game for some fun. We have put a top hat on him, pirate hat, a scarf that made him look oh, so dashing! Max is a bit tougher to dress up! If he doesn’t want to wear something he immediately lets us know! I want him to go as the Big Bad Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood but we shall see if he is up to wearing the black cape I bought him!

The Albertsons Safeway family of local grocery stores, in partnership with Nestlé Purina is conducting a social / digital promotion called Hairy ‘N Scary, a pet photo contest this October. We get most of our pet food and supplies at Albertsons – from Max’s bone treats and Purina dog food to Buddy’s favorite catnip.

To enter, just post a pictures of your pet(s) in costume, via Facebook and Twitter, onto a Fan Reel page. See below for links.

One winner from 13 of the Albertsons Safeway divisions will be selected and will receive a $250 donation along with ten (10) bags of Purina ONE® (16.5lb.) and ten (10) bags of Purina® Cat Chow® (16 lb.), in their name, to their local, non-profit, accredited animal shelter or rescue to assist with housing, feeding, caring for, and finding families for, thousands of dogs, cats and other lovable creatures.

And look at this sweet rescue! Ed Hamada, our local Albertson’s Store Director stopped by the animal shelter with his family today and they brought this sweetie home! Be sure to enter for a chance to win a donation for your local animal shelter.
