Twas the Night Before Christmas :: Craft Ideas
Aren’t you getting excited? I just love this time of year and love that my daughter is all about Santa these days! What a special time in their lives and I am happy to prolong this magical wonder.
I have a couple crafts that I wanted to share with you that are really fun to put together. Some of these ideas we shared on eBay under My Guides, but in case you missed it over there we are posting them here as well! Hope you enjoy them and happy holidays!
Treats for Santa, his Elves and Reindeer:
We get super excited putting treat for Santa and this year I thought it might be fun to make some mini donuts for his elves. Just coat some Cheerios in honey and dip in brown and powdered sugar and place on your favorite plate.
And don’t forget about the Reindeer. They are always excited about getting carrots! You could also mix together some uncooked oatmeal in a bag and have the kids leave a trail coming up to the house. We did that last year and my daughter thought that was about the coolest thing!
Santa likes his cookies so we made a quick To-Go box which could be made out of just about anything. I used some letter rubber stamps on the top and we have our To-Go box for Santa. Super easy craft that Santa will appreciate tonight!
Christmas Eve Suitcase:
It is tradition to open one present on Christmas Eve in our family and the rest on Christmas Day. Well, I should say morning since we were always up with the roosters! This year I put together a suitcase of goodies for my daughter to open up tonight. Most of this we already had which you probably have lying around as well!
I used a vintage suitcase my mother-in-law loaned me and filled it with the following:
Box of cookies
Stuffed reindeer
Christmas movies
New pajamas
Christmas books
New ornament
Journal with marker pens to draw or write a letter to Santa with
Nightlight (a flashlight would work perfect as well)
You can mix and match as you like, but I think this is going to be a new tradition in our family! A vintage suitcase filled with goodies on Christmas Eve – how fun!
Do have fun tonight friends! Tis the season of family, friends, wonder and Santa!
