A Must-See Movie :: Eddie the Eagle Out in Theaters 2/26
Eddie the Eagle – In theaters February 26
Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael “Eddie” Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself – even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. From producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle stars Taron Egerton as Eddie, the loveable underdog with a never say die attitude.
Inspiring Movie:
I had a chance to see Eddie the Eagle a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! It is such an inspiring story about Eddie Edwards who just won’t give up his dreams. The whole time I was watching the movie I had to remind myself that is based on a true story and that Eddie really did these things. You do feel like he is willing to sacrifice everything to make his dream of being in the Olympics come true – even at times to the detriment of his own safety. He is so determined that he never takes his eyes off of the prize – representing England in the Winter Olympics.
Actor Taron Egerton is amazing as Eddie and really captures his essence. This is an individual who believes in himself even when no one else will. And Hugh Jackman plays his reluctant coach who is himself inspired by Eddie’s determination to participate at all costs.
Reminisce about the ’80’s:
The movie is rated PG13 I’d imagine because their is a rather funny scene about Bo Derek. Yes, Bo Derek’s name come up in this 1980’s throwback to fashion and music. If you are an 80’s kid or just like 80’s music, then you are going to love hearing the soundtrack. And what’s not to enjoy about the 80’s big hair! You might find a couple of your old school outfits in the movie!
Great Family Film:
Eddie the Eagle is very inspirational and a wonderful movie to bring the family to. You can always take your youngster to use the restroom if you find the Bo Derek scene to be too much for your kid (it will probably go over their head) but the movie’s message about going after your dreams, even when no one believes you can do it, is an important one to share with children.
