The Angry Birds Movie out on May 20th!
When Angry Birds game came out a few years back our family would spend hours playing it together on the iPad. My daughter was about four years old and we had a blast taking turns trying to move through the different levels. We really liked the Halloween Angry Birds and Star Wars version. We can’t wait to see the movie this week and finally find out WHY the birds are so angry! What happened between the pigs and birds? I hope the movie answers this and more because let me tell you we’ve wanted to know for a long time!
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise we find Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re The Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad, Frozen) and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This Is The End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to. (Source: Angry Birds Movie.com).
The Columbia Pictures/Rovio Animation film is directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis and produced by John Cohen and Catherine Winder. The screenplay is by Jon Vitti, and executive produced by Mikael Hed and David Maisel.
The film debuts this Friday, May 20, and in the spirit of that and Nat Geo’s partnership with Rovio, they’ve got a little something special for our lovely dandelion moms that includes their brand new Kids Angry Birds Movie book.
