Last Minute Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day will be here Sunday. Are you still procrastinating over what to get your spouse, dad, or others in family? From yourself to the kids we’ve found some great gift ideas that will make it just in time. Phew!

There’s Nothing On!

Do you still hear that? Is that an obsolete phrase now? If not, it should be and will be with a streaming media stick. If you’ve not taken the plunge (to cut the cable/or at least downsize to the basics) now is the perfect time to order one.

The Roku Streaming Stick is a great way to catch up on all the seasons of a show you missed or have wanted to see (some subscription services apply if you don’t have Netflix, Hulu etc) – take it from one tv/room to another or better yet take it with you on vacation or going over to a friends. You can currently purchase it directly from Roku for $39.99 or from Amazon for $39.00 and if you have Prime receive it in just two days.

If you want to try something else or already have the Roku or Roku Stick then head over to Google and purchase their Chromecast. It retails for $35.00, however, there’s a promotion on the Google Store until June 17th where it’s available for just $30.00! That promotion is also available at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, or Staples.

B-B-But I Want One Too …

You thought about getting it at Christmas. Somehow you decided not to do it (mainly because it would have seemed like every one was getting it or you were just unsure) and then it was over … and fast-forward to when he started hinting each time those Super Bowl ads came on. Whoops. Over. Well, now’s your chance to surprise him (as he’s probably expecting a tie or socks – not that anything is wrong with all the socks around nowadays) and the whole family will enjoy it! The Amazon Echo is currently $179.99 and if you have Prime it’ll arrive in two days (or possibly less depending on where you live).

Time To Get Your Grill On

weber original grill

Father’s Day falls at such a great time in the year. Smack dab in the middle of June when families are enjoying the outdoors and all that comes along with it (heat, mosquitoes – just kidding … okay, not really *lol*). Besides that, a majority of dads (and all the other representations of men in our lives) love to grill – year round even! So this is the perfect time to upgrade or maybe get a new grill (or switch it up from charcoal to gas or vice versa); and don’t forget to throw in some brisket or steaks. It may be “his day” but you won’t need much to convince him to get off the couch if there’s meat involved. Lowe’s is running some Father’s Day specials on grills and other items but I’m going to play it safe and go low (on cost – just remember this grill will last and pay for itself time and again in the years to come) and use the ol’ reliable from Weber – as in their Original Kettle 22 inch for $99.00. It’s also available from Amazon for $99.00 and if you have Prime then shipping is free and should arrive in three days or less.

I for one don’t find it distasteful to give a gift card. To anyone. A hard card gift card by itself or stuck in a card you purchased or made. Even electronic – especially if miles and miles separate you. At least this way the man or men in your lives can get what they really want (because you just don’t understand what an fvr950 ThisNThat really is or some other doofangledname you cannot for the life of you remember, or say), or you’ve tirelessly looked online and there are different models [a new one just came out … did he mean he wanted that one when it did?] or you drove over to Cabella’s annnd well, that young guy doesn’t normally work in that department and so many other scenarios. From a Google Play gift card, Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Amazon, iTunes, or Starbucks as an add-on all the way to just getting and giving them a straight Visa or American Express gift card, they make them for just about all.the.stores nowadays. And, as I’ve already mentioned they’re great add-on’s to slide into a card or as a just because … so he can get the right/what he wants to go with his new xyz that he just opened. You can find just about any I’ve mentioned (and more) at local stores around the checkout area. I think I just tapped the “easy button” for this one! HA.

Last But Not Least

I can never leave a post (for men or even women really) that doesn’t include Harry’s razors/shaving items. They have a great array of items to choose from for Father’s Day along with offering two awesome style razors. I purchased one of the kits several years ago for someone in my family and by chance got a razor myself. To this day this is hands-down my favorite razor. It’s like the other “shave club” without all the various dollar amounts (and which do I choose uhm uhm) and it’s right in-line price wise with their razor heads – and I have to say that I don’t replace very often nor does the recipient of this gift. I have gone many months and I like to shave *lol* so I’m not “hairy” ~ they just don’t dull out or at least mine doesn’t. They’re that great, in my opinion! Plus, take a moment to read their story along with their programs and who they’re currently partnering with. That’s another huge reason why I constantly recommend Harry’s. By-the-way, one of the founders, Jeff Raider, is co-founder of Warby Parker.

Happy Father’s Day to all the men out there. We appreciate you and all that you do for your families! May you have the most exceptional day!
