Scrumptious Strawberry Recipes You Must Try Out!
Fresh summer strawberries are one of the most popular, refreshing, and healthy treats. They also carry a number of health benefits. Did you know there are over 600 varieties of strawberries? The sweet, slightly tart berries rank among the top 10 fruits and vegetables for antioxidant content. (Source: Medical News Today). They are an excellent source of antioxidant-promoting vitamin C and manganese and a good source of dietary fiber, iodine, and folate. And if that isn’t enough to convince you to eat more strawberries, they are a good source of copper, potassium, biotin, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin B6, and omega-3 fatty acids.
I have loved strawberries since I was a kid! They are right up there with watermelon as my two favorite summer fruits. How about you? Right now is the perfect time to grab some fresh and preferably organic (they taste better and are better for you) strawberries at your local farmer’s market. We picked a bunch up this past weekend and plan to make one of these delicious summer treats. Enjoy!
