5 Fall Fashion Essentials for Moms
I was beyond excited to wear a sweater last week in SoCal!
Yay! It’s that time again for (most) of the country to pull out their Fall sweaters, boots and coats. Never mind that we are experiencing 100 degree days here in Southern California, I can still dream about the days we can pull out our Fall clothing. Yes, eventually, the days will become cooler and we can join the rest of the country – though our winters are pretty mild as you know. Trust me when I say there are many-a-day when I would love to wake up to seeing snow falling from my bedroom window. I can’t complain and won’t though I do have a little cold-weather envy…
Here are some of our favorite Fall trends and top 5 fashion essentials we are seeing that any mom can put on and head out the door, looking cute and comfortable. My favorite combination!
First off, let’s see what the colors are for Fall 2016 according to Pantone Color Institute:
“Blue skies represent constancy as they are always above us. Grays give a feeling of stability, Red tones invite confidence and warmth, while the hot Pinkish Purples and Spicy Mustard Yellows suggest a touch of the exotic.”
– Leatrice Wiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute™
Here are our Top 5 Fall Fashion Essentials for Moms:
Leather Moto Jacket
Yep, I pretty much want this entire outfit! From the simple white t-shirt to fun rings, this looks cool and comfortable. Look to invest in a simple moto jacket this Fall season. Whether you prefer pleather or leather, there are a ton of options available! Image courtesy of Pop Sug.ur on Pinterest.
You can layer it over a long(er) sweater like this look found on Style Estate.
Long sweater vest
I just love this look and have found a couple long (inexpensive) sweaters at our local resale boutique. These look really cute with a simple cotton long-sleeved shirt underneath with your favorite jeans and booties.

Blazers are back:
I just love this look! And these burgundy boots are amazing! You can find blazers in all colors and patterns this season. I found an adorable flower print blazer that will look great with a white t-shirt and jeans. Experiment with colors or patterns you don’t normally buy for yourself. This look and more layering tips can be found on Fenzyme.com.
Distressed Jeans
This Fall we see a mix of styles – from bell bottoms (yep!), to distressed to dark blues. And jean on jean seems to have come back as well – just make sure to match a lighter color jean top with your favorite (dark) jeans. I love that we can mix and match and it appears that many styles are in this season. Image courtesy of Stylish Wife.
Chunky heeled booties
I love the chunky heel look! Invest in a good pair of booties to see you through the season. Image courtesy of No Rest for Bridget.
