Warner Bros. Pictures Thriller “Unforgettable” out in Theaters April 21st!

 

“Unforgettable” is the first film in the director’s chair for veteran producer Denise Di Novi.  Rosario Dawson, Katherine Heigl and Geoff Stults star.

Tessa Connover (Heigl) is barely coping with the end of her marriage when her ex-husband, David (Stults), becomes happily engaged to Julia Banks (Dawson) – not only bringing Julia into the home they once shared but also into the life of their daughter, Lily.  Trying to settle into her new life, Julia believes she has finally met the man of her dreams, the man who can help put her own troubled past behind her.  But Tessa’s jealousy soon takes a pathological turn until she will stop at nothing to turn Julia’s dream into her ultimate nightmare.

 

The main cast also includes Cheryl Ladd, Sarah Burns, Whitney Cummings, Simon Kassianides, Isabella Kai Rice and Robert Ray Wisdom. “Unforgettable” was produced by Di Novi, Alison Greenspan and Ravi Mehta, with Lynn Harris serving as executive producer.  The film was written by Christina Hodson.

 

“Unforgettable” Opens April 21, 2017!

 

We had a chance to preview the movie a few weeks back with a group of mom bloggers at a theater in Los Angeles and it was such a fun night!  I feel like this is a great movie to grab your girlfriends and head to the theater and watch this together.  Think Fatal Attraction type of thriller!  We were yelling at the screen telling the characters to “turn around!” and “watch out!”.  It was that kind of (fun) movie experience for all of us!

 

 

Interviews with the cast and filmmakers:

The next day we interviewed some of the cast and filmmakers including Rosario Dawson (“Julia”), Katherine Heigl (“Tessa”) and Denise Di Novi (Director/Producer) in one group and Cheryl Ladd (“Helen”) joined us afterwards.  It was a really great interview with all of them and they spoke about how this movie was filmed in 30 days which is pretty amazing really!  It is Denise Di Novi first time at directing but she has been in the business for over 30 years so she knows how things work.  Ms. Di Novi said that it was very much a “let’s do this” type of atmosphere where everyone gave their all and made it happen.  The movie set was filled with women – from the director, producer (Alison Greenspan), to the two female leads and they worked together and created an atmosphere of comrade.

 

Geoff Stults who plays Tessa’s ex and Julia’s fiance stopped into our room to say hi!  He told me at the premiere he was quite fascinated with this whole mom blogger thing!  He was fun to talk to and when I asked him what it was like working with women all day long on set he said “what do you think?”  I think he enjoyed himself though it was an intense movie, it sounds like this cast of actors worked really well together.

 

 

It was so nice meeting Cheryl Ladd as I was such a big fan of Charlie’s Angels as a kid!  She looks amazing and was so genuine.  She spends most of her time in Texas with her longtime husband but says she enjoys coming out to Los Angeles for work from time to time.  We spoke about where she drew inspiration from with her character and she said that she took bits and pieces of personality traits from women she’s met over the years – mostly ones she met at the country club.  Women who had to give the appearance of perfection and always having it together.  I thought she did a fantastic job at playing this role.  As I mention in my interview with her on the red carpet, she just might scare you a little.  She works very hard to appear as if she has it all together and raised a daughter (Katherine Heigl “Tessa”) to be just like her.

And I have to say I thought Katerine Heigl does a fantastic job playing a character that yes, is psychotic, but as you learn about her backstory you can’t help but be empathetic to her character.  She plays a crazy woman who will stop at nothing to get back what she thinks is hers, but allows the viewer in to see why she does the things she does.  So when Warner Bros. asked us afterwards what team were we on – “Team Tessa or Team Julia” I said I really couldn’t decide because I felt for both characters.

 

I felt for Julia because here she comes into this situation with good intentions and finds that her adorable fiancee comes with some serious baggage… A crazy ex!  And Julia is hiding things herself that come out in the movie.  When I spoke to Rosario at the premiere I asked her how she was able to decompress each day since they had to shoot it in 30 days.  Everyone’s roles were pretty intense but especially for her and Katherine.  She spoke about how they just stuck together, as women should, and made it happen.  She did say the fight scene was on the last day and that she was literally limping off the set that day.  It is a great fight scene and one that the director Denise Di Novi wanted to be life-like.  Not the kind of fighting scenes we usually see in movies with all these fancy fighting, but this fight scene was pretty accurate in my opinion!  Let me know what you think after you see it!

Girls Night Out Movie!

 

All in all, I think this is the perfect movie for a girls night out!  Head to dinner (and possibly a cocktail or two) and go see this with your girlfriends. Opens nationwide April 21, 2017!

 

 

 

Unforgettable Red Carpet Premiere was held on April 18th

This week I attended the Unforgettable red carpet premiere at the TCL Theatre in Hollywood and I have to share with you some of the pictures!  A big thank you to Warner Bros. Pictures and Boutique Publicity for the opportunity to attend the premiere.  What a wonderful experience and what a trip!

 

As the actors showed up the press is all lined up behind a divider yelling at them to turn this way, “turn that way” so they can get the best picture of them.

 

All the actresses looked amazing (of course) and we were able to get an interview with most of the cast including Simon Kassianides (“Michael”), Geoff Stults (“David”), Cheryl Ladd (“Helen”), Denise Di Novi (Director/Producer) and Rosario Dawson (“Julia”).

 

A big thank you to the amazing Joiful team who got us (Mrs Kathy King and Belair Mommie) red-carpet ready (it really takes a village) and helping us feel glamorous.  I was a tad nervous and wanted to do a good job interviewing the cast and they helped me by getting me all dolled up!  Thank you Joiful!
