Experience The Disney Social Media Mom “On-The-Road” Conference With Me!
A few weeks ago I received some Pixie Dust from the crew over at Disney Moms. They are the group that put on the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration On-The-Road Conferences that are held a couple times a year in various spots across the country. I always enjoy going to these conferences because it just brings out the kid in me (doesn’t Disneyland do that to everyone?!) and also to hear about the cool things happening with Disney.
We also heard from social media industry experts such as Erin Glover, who is an editor for the Disney Parks Blog and Megan Sayers Chapman from Babble who provided wonderful advice to help the group of influencers attending step up their game. I was truly inspired and hope to utilize many of the tips they provided.
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure:
Coming from Disney Animation comes Olaf’s Frozen Adventure which will premerie in front of the highly anticipated movie Pixar CoCo on November 22nd. We saw a few clips and it is so funny! It is impossible not to fall in love with Olaf all over again! If your family are fans of Frozen they are going to love this fun short film.
OLAF’S Frozen Adventure: Out in theaters November 22nd:
We heard from Stevie Wermers, Walt Disney Animation Studios director, and Kevin Deters, Disney Animation director, who spoke about the attention to detail that went into creating this short. They spent a lot of time researching the different Scandinavian holiday traditions to make sure they were correctly portrayed in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. So be sure to check out it out this coming November 22nd!
Stacia Martin, Disney Animator and Historian for over 39 years.
Ms. Martin is celebrating her 39th year with Disney! Disney Artist and Historian, Stacia Martin, has been named to the inaugural “classes” of Disney “Archives Angels” and Walt Disney Legacy Award recipient, working on special projects for diverse Disney divisions. It was a real treat watching Stacia draw a couple iconic Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell, the whole-while speaking to us about fun facts – from the park to the first silent film (you guessed it, Steamboat Willy). And best yet, she drew each of the bloggers attending favorite Disney character which was gifted to us at the end of the conference! It was a tight race between Mickey and Winnie the Pooh but Pooh Bear has a special place in my heart!
Keynote Speaker, Good Morning America Amy Robach
The keynote speaker was Good Morning America anchor Amy Robach. She as a way about her that makes you feel like you just know her – or could be instant friends. She is very warm and was forthcoming about her battle with breast cancer and how that journey changed her not only in her job as a journalist, but also as a wife (She is married to the very cute Andrew Shue of Melrose Place), friend, mom and stepmom.
You can watch our Facebook Live video here. It was very moving to hear how though the battle with cancer was really tough on both her and her family, she said it changed her in so many positive ways – one of which is to really embrace the here and now.
After the conference we stuck around and took some pictures and then headed out to the park with our respective families.
We hadn’t been to Disneyland in quite some time so it was really special to spend the day with the family.
We were excited to see new attractions like the Disney Junior Dance Party, and take our first ride on the new Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout. I spoke with a Disney employee about the fun sights and sounds you’ll experience on this ride here.
It was a wonderful experience from morning to night and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from industry experts and just being a part of the wonder of Disney!
In celebration, we have a cute Disney goodies gift pack giveaway! Disney Prize Pack includes:
Stuffed Mickey
Guardians of the Galaxy hat
Disney Junior hardcover book
Awesome Mix Rice Krispies Treats
Olaf puppet
