Fall 2017’s Bag Trend ::  Oversized Totes and Shoulder Bags

What’s your favorite type of bag to carry around?  I’ve been a huge fan of totes for a long time because I can just throw all that I need in it.  I’ve been trying to be better at keeping it organized, but I love that it gives you the room to pack as much or little as you need. And for moms, that can be anything from diapers to crayons to band-aids.   I’ve often laughed at what I find at the bottom of my purse when I remember to clean it out.  You know how it is!

Giant bags were all over the Fall 2017 runways according to Purse Blog.com.  She writes that Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia can probably be most directly credited with getting this look going in earnest last season with the brand’s giant, simple zipper totes and duffels.

You will find that these oversized bags mostly fall into one of two categories: totes and hobos.  If you often find yourself needing to carry a ton of stuff in everyday life, this season is for you.  And I like that you can dress up or go for the casual look with these versatile bags! There are SO many options out there too ladies you don’t need to buy the super expensive bags!  Of course if you want to splurge, by all means go for it, but truthfully the bag I have received the most compliments on was a brown pleather tote from Urban Outfitters I picked up at our local resale boutique for under $20 that looks a lot like this one below.

An Investment Piece

There is something to be said for splurging on a quality bag!  My mother has used the same designer bag for almost 15 years now and it still looks new!  Be sure to check online for deals on used designer bags.  Some of my favorite sites are Poshmark and Tradesy. Image couresty of Fasbest.

Add some color!

Everyone should own a red bag don’t you think?  I just picked one up this season at my favorite resale boutique and love it!  You can wear it with so many different styles – from all black to a casual outfit like this black leggings, plaid scarf (plaid is HUGE this season) and white t-shirt mix.  Image found on StyleSpacez.
