Scott Lang’s Fun at Home Tips

In celebration of ANT-MAN & THE WASP coming out on Blu-ray October 16th, Walt Disney Studios and Scott Lang (aka: ANT-MAN) sent us some ideas and goodies to make spending the night in with the crew loads of fun!  If you’ve seen the movie, you probably remember how Scott (Paul Rudd) was under house arrest and had to keep himself (and his daughter) entertained.  Who can forget that incredible fort they built?!

Our family usually spends at least one night in together on a weekend night and I am loving the ideas they sent over.  You know how it is, sometimes you need a little inspiration for keeping the kids entertained.  Whether you join in the activities, or let the kids have at it – here are some easy fun-at-home tips!

Play Drums

Our daughter has been playing the drums for over three years now.  But if you don’t have a set of drums in the house (not everyone is crazy like us) you can have the kids drum on something.  Just drum away.  This silly finger drum set has gone everywhere with my daughter.  She loves playing it in the car!  She photo-shopped herself playing this finger set.  You can find one on Amazon I am sure.

Indoor Bowling

Love this idea!  Playing with a plastic bowling set down the hallway is super fun.  And an inexpensive toy set can be picked up at most grocery stores!

Sing Karaoke

After seeing A Star is Born this past weekend, my daughter keeps singing Lady Gaga’s song from the movie.  The Q37 Wireless Microphone & HiFi Speaker is a HUGE hit!  If anyone in your family loves singing – you might want to get one of these for the holidays! Check out eBay for some great deals on a wireless speaker.

Now you see it…
And now you don’t (all with the flick of a hand).

Card Tricks

Are your kids into doing card tricks?  Mine is such a character she practiced the disappearing card hand trick for a couple days straight and did it at lunch time.  It was a big hit with the kids at the lunch tables. She even did the trick for her dentist.  Check out some YouTube tutorials for some simple card tricks.

Shoot Some Hoops

It is fun having one of these small hoops around the house.  Especially if you work out of the house, it is a good distraction.  If you are planning a night-in with the family, pick one up at your local sporting goods store (or Amazon) and keep score!  Winner gets to choose which movie to watch.

Build a Fort

We went through a period where everyday was fort day!  Kids love building forts and it is an easy and inexpensive way to keep them busy.  If you have any empty boxes in the garage bring those in for family night as well as extra blankets or sheets, towels and pillows and you are set.

Watch a Movie

Set the tone by dimming the lights, grab some snacks and get comfy on the sofa (or in the fort).  Have a couple movie options to choose from and have a great night in!  Last weekend we stayed in and watched ANT MAN & THE WASP. Ant-Man & the Wasp follows Scott Lang who is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both the superhero Ant-Man and as a father in the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War.” As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he attempts to serve house arrest with his daughter Cassie Lang, bonding through the imaginative ways they invent to entertain themselves at home. The Blu-ray is out October 16th so be sure to grab a copy!

Thanks Walt Disney Studios and Scott Lang for the awesome Fun at Home Box.  I hope everyone got some ideas for your next family night in.  You can find ANT-MAN & THE WASP on Digital October 2nd and on Blu-ray October 16th.
