Fabulous DIY Springtime Crafts

 

Spring officially started last week and I am so happy to see the sun out and birds chirping!  Springtime is a time of new beginnings.  We have been working on our house, slowly de-cluttering the random stuff that somehow manages to find its way onto my counters and kitchen table!  By getting rid of these things that we no longer need, has freed up more space to start working on some fun springtime crafts.  My daughter starts spring break tomorrow afternoon and we are working on our Things To Do List this weekend.  Here are some fun crafts you can do with the kids while on break that would look great in the house or even as a gift for a neighbor or grandparent. Spring Blocks

DIY Birdhouse

This is so pretty and I am sure your neighborhood birds would appreciate this craft!  The image was found on Pinterest and it looks like they used a milk carton, glued some tissue papers, added a popsicle stick and used paint sample sheets for the roof.  I absolutely love this idea and plan to make it next week!

 

 

 

DIY Bird Feeders

Our neighbors across the way have no less than five bird feeders that include food for hummingbirds as well as seeds for all the other birds hanging around.  I joke with them and say it looks like Snow White’s house because the birds all know where to go to get some yummy grub!   When I walked by their house – it reminds me of a scene out of Snow White or Cinderella because there are so many birds flying to and fro.  They even had a baby bunny hanging around last spring as well!  This cute DIY bird feeder idea comes from The Happier Homemaker that will surely be a hit!  To read how to make your own go to The Happier Homemaker.

 

 

 

 Creative Garden

Build a Bird’s Nest

Tis the season for nest building!  My daughter and I will leave out some of our dog’s fur after we brush him for the birds to use for their nests.  I am not sure if the birds actually use this fur we leave for them but it makes my daughter happy thinking she is helping them out.  This is such a cute idea.  You can use items you find on a nature walk or things you might already have in your crafts drawer (or cabinet or room if you are really crafty).  To read how The DIY Mommy made hers go to The DIY Mommy.

 

 

Sheepishly cute

This would make a really sweet gift for a teacher or friend.  You can write whatever you want on the card!  This blogger made this cute sheep out of Q-Tips and popsicle sticks and it looks pretty easy to make – just takes a little time cutting out the Q-Tips.  To see how to make your own go to Carinissima.

 

 

 

Springtime Flowers

This reminds me of the gorgeous cherry blossoms I enjoyed while living in Japan.  The Japanese really embrace these gorgeous trees and have spring celebrations that include sake and yummy food while sitting under the cheery blossom trees!  I like this easy craft that requires a plastic bottle and some paints and paper.  Image found on Pinterest.

 

 

Just Hanging Around

Ladybug Rocks
