Instagram Inspiration: Making Memories

Growing up in Southern California in the 1970’s and 80’s was a great time to be a kid!  We would spend hours at our pool and had many family trips to the beach. It has been great incorporating these same activities we did as kids into our family outings.  My husband and daughter have been hitting the beach early in the am for years (and letting tired mom sleep in). He has been secretly wishing she would take to surfing because he has wanted to teach her how to surf since she was a baby.  I think he wants a surfing buddy so he has an excuse to hit the beach after work.

A few weeks ago, his wish finally came true and when he texted over the image of them above, I had tears come to my eyes because they both looked so happy!  It is moments like this that I sit back and thank the heavens above for my wonderful husband and daughter.  Our lives can get so busy and we forget at times to slow down and just enjoy these little moments – that at the end of our journey – are probably the ones we will remember the most!

Here’s to going out and checking off some of the things on your bucket list this spring and summer!  Enjoy yourself! Here is my daughter’s third time surfing and rode some waves- much to the excitement of mom and dad!
