Dwell :: Update Your Bathroom in 5 Easy Steps

I participated in this sponsored campaign on behalf of REACH® and One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own.

Every morning I sit in my favorite chair and drink a cup of coffee while looking at Instagram.  This chair means a lot to me as it comes from my parents home in Colorado.  When my mom moved out here to California this was one of the pieces she shipped out for me. Every time I look at my favorite Home Décor Instagramers I get so inspired to update our home and make it as colorful and bright as I can. These ladies and gents are so talented!  They have given me some great ideas for decorating our house.  You know how it can go, you decorate and then that’s it – for years.  I know I have been guilty of this as I recently looked around our place and realized I had gotten a little lazy on keeping things current.  Don’t get me wrong, it is important to have in your home things you love, but switching things around now and then keeps things exciting!

One of the first rooms I wanted to update is our Master Bathroom. For some reason I have been having the hardest time deciding on what to do in here so I have been taking snapshots of some of my favorite Instagramers and Pinterest bathroom tips.  Here are some of my favorites ideas:

Add a Tray:

I love how a tray can bring the whole bathroom together!  You can put your favorite perfumes on it as well as a small vase and/or pretty diffuser.  I found this white tray at Marshalls for under $10 and love the clean look of it.  There are so many choices out there – a large mirrored tray would look great as well.

Add some pretty soaps:

Treat yourself to some pretty soaps.  I prefer to use liquid soaps and you can find a soap dispenser at any department store, Amazon or your local discount store like TJ Maxx at a great price.

And cut some flowers from your garden or pick up some at your local grocery store.  They are really inexpensive these days and what a nice thing to do for yourself and family!  A clean house (preferably cleaned by someone else) and a fresh bouquet is on my list of favorite things.  It’s the little things!

Organize Your Essentials:

I like to put my hair and skin products in a basket so I can put them under the sink if we have company.  Usually they are sitting on my counter so I figured a cute basket is a nice way to keep them organized.  One of my new favorite products are the REACH® Complete Care™ products  because it minimizes the amount of mouth products our family needs on a daily basis.  I had a chance to try out the REACH Rinse which offers 8-in-1 benefits.  It tastes great, targets problem areas in the mouth, and ensure the bathroom counter stays clean and tidy.  No other mouthwash on the market offers this combination of advantages.

There is also a toothbrush holder, which ensures the head of the toothbrush stays clear of any countertop bacteria. My husband is notorious for coming into my bathroom (I highly recommend separate bathrooms from your hubby if possible!) and using my mouthwash and usually spilling it on my counter.  But the REACH Rinse has a no-mess pump and complementary dosage cup guide.  And I am loving the REACH® Complete Care™ CURVE Tooth brush which has a 13° triple angled neck and triple angled bristles to maximize contact with each tooth and help clean between teeth and around the gum line.  It is my new favorite toothbrush!  They make keeping our smiles bright and shiny so much easier with these cool and efficient products.  Yay for easy!  You can learn more about the REACH Complete Care products here.

You look fabulous darling!

When I saw this jewelry stand I just had to get it figuring I’d find a spot for it eventually.  Well, with our new updated bathroom, it adds a little fun to this area!  Why not put your favorite jewelry on display!  You can look online or check out your local discount store for some jewelry stands or boxes. The jewelry box I had before was on it’s last legs and it was time to add a little spark to the bathroom area. I think she looks fabulous – don’t you?!

Add Framed Art or a Photograph:

This is a great place to add your favorite quote or photo of your family.  I found this white framed quote “Eat Well and Travel Often” at our local discount store.  Choose something a quote that motivates or inspires you.  I like this statement because it is a good reminder to Eat Well (take care of my health) and Travel Often which is one of my goals to do more often.

Hope you found these tips useful.  The total cost to update our Master Bathroom was under $50.  It is good to change things up don’t you think?

$10 Tray

$7.99 Soap Dispenser

$5.99 Toothbrush/Toothpaste holder

$4.99 Vanilla Liquid Soap

$7.99 Vanilla Modern Diffuser

$7.99 Framed Quote

The basket was a previous purchase and the white frame on the shelf is a Jonathan Adler Happy Chic JC Penny purchase for under $10.  Check them out online if you are interested in his JC Penny (inexpensive) line!  And the jewelry stand was also a previous Marshalls purchase.

Good luck updating your space.  You deserve it!
