Photographer Becky Lew

Photography has always inspired me and I hope to someday make the time to learn the ins and outs of taking a good picture.  At this point I just take a bunch of pictures hoping I will have a couple good ones!  I came across Becky Lew’s work from a friend’s holiday card she sent out this past Christmas.  I loved how her family looked so natural and the lighting was amazing.  We are always hearing about the importance of lighting when taking a good photograph.  Becky Lew really takes it to the next level and one of the things that stands out to me about her work is her ability to capture moments.  You know, when your family or couple is most relaxed and the picture is taken without them noticing.  With this being the month of love – I think you will find her work to be inspirational and I know it makes me want to try my hand at photography again.  Here is what Becky has to say about her work and inspiration.

When did you realize you wanted to be a photographer?

I didn’t wake up and decide to be a photographer, but I always knew I wanted to capture every moment! My dad was a photographer in College and my mom has a million photos of  my sister and I growing up.  It is in my DNA!  I love to capture life, and even more so, get artistic with my style.

Where do you find your inspiration?
In every day life.  I love the quiet moments as well as the belly laughter crazy moments. Love inspires me.

What has been one of your favorite moments as a photographer?
During every session, there is usually a favorite moment where things settle down, I capture a look, a touch, a whisper, a giggle, a gentle kiss.
