If you’ve ever had Australia on your wish list of places to visit, here’s a taste of some of the amazing things you can see and experience when you visit the Great Southern Land.

Harbour Bridge

Drive on it, climb up it, walk over it or sail under it, the Harbour Bridge links North Sydney to the city and is affectionately known as the “coathanger”. You can even go on a guided tour and climb up the bridge and enjoy stunning vistas of the city, harbour and beyond.

Sydney Opera House

You probably recognize this building – Australia’s most famous icon. Perched right on the harbour’s edge, with a magnificent ‘sail’ like roof. Peaceful, serene, and extraordinarily beautiful. The sunlight shimmers and dances off this stunning building.

Great Ocean Road

This is a breath-taking coastal drive. Showcasing pristine beaches, lush green Otway Ranges, and dramatic limestone cliffs. It is a must-do if you are in Victoria.

Cable Beach at Sunset

If you find yourself in the North Western Australia, then riding a camel along the beach at sunset is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy 22km of pristine white sand, red desert to the east, and spectacular azure blue sea to the west.

Beaches, Beaches, Beaches

You are spoilt for choice with beaches in Australia. Popular ones in Sydney include Bondi (famous for being the first beach in the world to have regular surf lifesavers on patrol), Bronte, Tamarama, Manly, Palm Beach and many, many more. If you are in Sydney, take a ferry ride from Manly to the city. It is a cheap and cheerful way to enjoy stunning harbour views (and many lucky people get to do this as part of their daily commute to work!)

Cape Tribulation

See where the rainforest meets the Coral Sea. It’s the only place on earth where two World Heritage listed areas sit side-by-side: The Wet Tropics of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef.

Uluru/Ayres’s Rock

Located right in the desert centre of Australia is this enormous rock (the whole formation consists of one single rock). An extraordinary sight to behold, Uluru is sacred to the Aboriginal people of the area.

Hot Air Balloon Flight in the Red Centre

While you’re in the Northern Territory, you can take a hot air balloon flight at dawn, watch the sun rise, and see kangaroos bounding across the land below you.

Penguins on Phillip Island

Who doesn’t love penguins? They are so incredibly cute. Here you can see them emerge from the sea and waddle over the exposed stretch of sand to the safety of the sand dunes. This is the real thing, not in a zoo!

Great Barrier Reef

This is the world’s largest reef system and a true underwater paradise. You can go diving around the 350, 000 km square reef and get up close and personal with dolphins, turtles, dugongs, reef sharks and more than 1500 types of fish, and 4000 types of mollusks, including giant clams.

And of course, you can see these guys (I just had to squeeze in a picture of a kangaroo!)
