Are You Ready For A Bookkeeper?

Though it is summer, the end of the year will be upon us soon enough and it might be time to start putting your paperwork in order for your tax preparer.  But you have put it off all year.  Now you have a big pile of “stuff” and the task seems overwhelming.  You are not alone.  Many small business owners choose to do their own bookkeeping and as a result the job gets pushed aside until tax time.  As long as there is money in the checking account to pay the bills you are alright; right?  Well, yes…and no.  While you may have enough money to keep paying bills you have not really put anything in place to help you plan.  By having your transactions recorded on a regular basis you can see where your business stands at any time during the year.  There are no surprises and you can use the information to make sound business decisions.

Maybe you are afraid of giving up control to someone else.  There is nothing that says you have to give up anything.  Your bookkeeper does not have to be the one paying the bills or managing your cash flow.  Many clients only need their monthly transactions recorded so that they can see how much money is coming in, where it comes from and where they are spending it.

No Business is Too Small:

You may think that your business is too small to need a bookkeeper; you’ll get to it eventually.  No business is too small.  Let’s face it you didn’t go into your business to do paperwork.  You chose something that you are passionate about.  Having a bookkeeper keep your records up to date frees you from the task and allows you to concentrate on the business that you love.  And it doesn’t cost as much as you may think.  Bookkeepers are trained to organize your receipts and statements and to record your transactions properly.  A task that could take many hours for you may take a professional bookkeeper a fraction of the time.

The small price that you will pay to hire a bookkeeper will be more than worth it once you no longer have to worry about that one part of your business.  At the end of the year you can enjoy the successes you have had and not stress about getting ready for tax time.  If you think you may be ready to talk about bookkeeping options for your business I can help.  Wendy Conte 661-993-9313 – “I do books so you can do business.”
