Culture :: The Titanic and Bodies Exhibition Tickets Giveaway
Next week, my daughter and I are going to tour the Premier Exhibitions, Titanic: The Experience and Bodies: The Exhibition in Buena Park where the former Movieland Wax Museum use to be. I have always been fascinated by the stories surrounding RMS Titanic and loved the movie when it came out years ago. At the moment, my daughter’s favorite book is Dr. Seuss’s Inside Your Outside which talks about how the body works so I think she will enjoy the Bodies Exhibition. I am told the two exhibitions are appropriate for ages seven on up. This would be a great activity to do with the kids while they are on summer break as they will be learning so many interesting facts about how our bodies work as well as more about The Titanic. Have fun!
Titanic: The Experience:
The following is an excerpt about the Titanic Exhibition from their website:
Educational, emotional and appropriate for all ages, Titanic: The Experience takes visitors on a journey through the life of Titanic. Along the way visitors will learn countless stories of heroism and humanity that pay honor to the indomitable force of the human spirit in the face of tragedy.
Titanic The Experience opened on August 1, 2013. It is the newest blockbuster Buena Park attraction located on Beach Boulevard. Become a passenger and travel back in time to 101 years ago, where authentic artifacts and interactive storytellers in period costume allow you to visit the unforgettable sights, sounds, and emotions of most famous Ship ever to set sail, Titanic.
This incredible tour back in time includes full scale room re-creations where you can visit some of the most famous rooms on board Titanic. In addition, visitors will view over 250 artifacts recovered from the wreck site of Titanic. These one of a kind objects, once thought to be lost forever, provide a haunting emotional connection to the story of Titanic like nothing else can. The story of the sinking is legendary; now experience the wonder and tragedy of this ill-fated Ship on a journey through Titanic history at Titanic The Experience. (Source: www.prxi.com).
Bodies: The Exhibition:
What a wonderful way for children to learn about the body! As I mentioned, my daughter is very fascinated about how the body works and we have several age-appropriate science books that talk about how each organ works and their respective “jobs” in the body. Here is an excerpt from the website about what Bodies: The Exhibition includes:
BODIES … The Exhibition is a world renowned experience that provides an opportunity to see inside carefully preserved real anatomical specimens like never before. These meticulously dissected bodies are preserved through an innovative process and respectfully presented, giving visitors the opportunity to view the beauty and complexity of their own organs and systems.
The Exhibition takes visitors through galleries providing an up-close look inside the skeletal, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, circulatory and other systems of the human body. Many of the whole body specimens are dissected in vivid athletic poses, allowing you to relate to everyday activities. Seen by more than 20 million worldwide BODIES… The Exhibition has changed the way we see ourselves. It is designed to enlighten, empower, fascinate, and inspire. (Source: www.prxi.com).

For me, the best scene was when they showed all that Rose accomplished in her lifetime via old photographs.
