Health :: Are You At-Risk for a Life Threatening Blood Clot?
When I was asked to write about a new campaign the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called Stop the Clot, Spread the Word™ are working on together, I immediately thought of Stephanie O’Neil Morris, a beautiful woman and spirit I met through Facebook and the A4cwsn group. We became friends and she and I use to correspond about our kids (we both have redheads) and our ancestry (we are both Irish) online so it came as a complete shock to read on Facebook one day two years ago, that she has passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. After reading more about what happened from her husband and friends,…

Family Is What You Make It!
Families. Today, we are seeing all types of families and they are starting to look less like The Cleavers! What we see today has evolved into a vast range of possibilities. Our family consists of in-laws, cousins, sister-in-laws, with a few adorable kids thrown in as well. And since we celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays we can be found honoring both religions around the holidays with Passover, Easter, Christmas and Hanukah. This makes for a pretty busy holiday season but I wouldn’t want to trade it with anything else! I just love that my daughter is gaining an understanding of our family traditions. Through the years, I have…

Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse :: Minnie’s Pet Salon
MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE: MINNIE’S PET SALON Minnie’s sparkling new Pet Salon is open for business…and adventure! When my daughter was little we use to watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse all the time! I can still remember their little songs and catch myself humming it sometimes! Minnie is adorable (what’s not to like about her?) and good news – she has a new show out! All our favorite Clubhouse pals are bringing their animal friends to get spruced up for Pluto’s All-Star Pet Show. With so many pets to bathe, groom and train, Minnie needs help. Luckily, Mickey and the gang are there to lend a hand. But when three…

The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa is Fun for the Whole Family!
At the end of April I attended the Mom 2.0 Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona. I stayed at the Hyatt Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch and absolutely fell in love with all the unique sites and fun activities they offer families. I plan to come back with my family as I know my daughter would go crazy for their large waterslide! After driving a good 5 hours it was nice to be welcomed so warmly by the staff at The Hyatt Scottsdale. Walking into the front lobby was quite breathtaking as it overlooked the courtyard and you could see the gorgeous desert mountains. There are over 493 rooms at the…

Gardening :: Growing Baby Succulents
Succulents just might be my all-time favorite plant! Some reasons include the fact that they don’t need a lot of attention or water. In fact, they tend to do better if you just leave them alone! Now that is an easy plant to have around. But I can’t help but admire when a new flower comes out of a succulent I’ve had for awhile that I didn’t even know flowered! That is always a nice surprise. Which brings me to something I want to share with you lovely dandelion moms and dads – you can grow a baby succulent – without any soil! I found this out…

What’s For Breakfast :: Buttermilk Pancakes
My daughter gets very excited when I ask her on a Saturday or Sunday morning if she wants pancakes for breakfast. I really like the Multigrain recipe I found in Kitchen Sense by Mitchell Davis but this morning I thought I’d try the buttermilk recipe. If you don’t have some buttermilk in the fridge – don’t fret – just add in some sour cream to get the same effect! Enjoy your weekend lovely dandelion moms and dads! These pancakes are really tasty as is, but you can add in some chocolate chips, blueberries, banana slices or even some nuts. I think some chopped walnuts would taste great with…
