Recipes :: Adorable Spring-Inspired Snacks and Lunches
Now is the perfect time of year for a picnic in the park with the family or if weather in your neck of the woods won’t permit that – try a picnic in your living room! My daughter loves when I make her fun lunches and I wanted to find some ideas to try out over spring break. There are so many adorable bento lunch ideas but I am not that gifted! So I found ideas via Pinterest that are doable for folk like me – something fun but won’t take all day to make. A Birdhouse: Now this is my kind of lunch! The Cookie Cutter…

Fashion :: Update Your Spring Wardrobe With Some Fun Pieces
Image found on Pinterest Spring has sprung? Hmm. The calendar says Spring is here but the temps across the country (and even here in SoCal) don’t seem to be following the seasonal plan. It is actually colder here than it has been in weeks! While the weather is not neccesssarily cooperating, I am still excited and looking forward to the warmer temps and the change in wardrobe. I always find myself challenged as the seasons change and winter to spring is certainly no exception.It can be a little tricky to transition your wardrobe so it’s important to have pieces that can take you from one season to…

Fabulous DIY Springtime Crafts
Spring officially started last week and I am so happy to see the sun out and birds chirping! Springtime is a time of new beginnings. We have been working on our house, slowly de-cluttering the random stuff that somehow manages to find its way onto my counters and kitchen table! By getting rid of these things that we no longer need, has freed up more space to start working on some fun springtime crafts. My daughter starts spring break tomorrow afternoon and we are working on our Things To Do List this weekend. Here are some fun crafts you can do with the kids while on break that would look great…

Reflections :: Cultivating Kairos
Image courtesy of Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce My mother came from the east coast over the weekend for a short but full trip, and the next thing I knew? We spent the weekend drenched in kairos. We took the ferry to Catalina, and someplace offshore, in the middle of the bumping and rolling sea, living kicked in. Kairos, according to Wiki, is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment. To really understand it though, we need to consider the idea of kairos next to an idea or word that describes the way we are used to experiencing life. This word is chronos, which means time. Chronos,…

Inspirational Mom :: Linda Sadeghi of The CAMP and The LAB Anti-Mall
If you are local, you have probably visited The CAMP or The Lab Anti-Mall in Costa Mesa. I had heard about The Lab years ago from my friend who is pretty on top of trends and she and I would visit the shops there a couple times a month – pre-kids! But now with our kids in-tow, we have enjoyed lunch over there as well. I really like that both The CAMP and The LAB offer a variety of shops such as Urband Outfitters and some of the best restaurants in town! My favorite breakfast place, The Old Vine, is located at the backend of The CAMP and I…

Hearing Health Foundation On Path to Finding Cure for Hearing Loss
As a mom, you want what’s best for your child. But imagine seeing your child suffer from hearing loss, with no cure in sight and unable to comfort them. For many moms this is a real life struggle. In fact, in the US, three out of every 1,000 children are born deaf or hard-of-hearing. My own father battled with hearing loss most of his adult life. He started going deaf in his early twenties until it progressed to almost 90% hearing loss in one ear and 95% in the other ear. He was fortunate to be able to get the cochulear earplant surgery but he was still not able to…
