The Beauty of the Monarch Butterfly Spring Migration
There is something quite magical when you see a Monarch Butterfly up close. We had a chance to visit the Ellwood Butterfly Preserve in Santa Barbara last year and saw thousands of Monarch Butterflies sleeping and flying around the preserve . It was such a memorable trip and my daughter was able to hold one in her hand while the tour guide was describing how you can tell whether the one she was holding was a male or female. This is the time of year that you will see the first generation Monarch Butterfly start stage one of an amazing and long journey. With spring just around the corner this could make sure a fun and…

Inspirational Moms Susanne and Robyn of Greater Than One
This week we are featuring Susanne Budofsky and Robyn Spritzer of Greater Than One who are Huggies MomInspired Grant 2012 recipients for their Hold-On Handles product line. The Hold-on Handles are cute and help keep the kids safe when you need them stay close to you. I had a chance to speak to Susanne and Robyn about how the…

Healthy Recipe: Orange Breakfast Muffins
I love starting my day with a coffee and a bite of orangey goodness! It makes such a nice change from tea and toast, or cereal. I make a batch of muffins and freeze them, and then warm them up whenever I feel like one. These muffins are delicious as they are, or you can vary them by adding ½ cup of sultanas or walnuts. You will need: 1 large orange 2/3 cup sugar 1 egg ½ cup squeezed fresh orange juice 100g melted butter 1½ cups self raising flour Directions: Trim the top and bottom off the orange so it sits flat. Cut the orange into quarters, and…

Your Family Tree: Where to Start
The idea of starting a research project on your family history can be an exciting, yet daunting, one. Where did your family come from? How did your ancestors live? These questions are just two that got me started on a family tree. I wanted to know as much as I could about my family. When I first started, I was immediately overwhelmed and had no clue what to do. After quite a bit of research, I finally got on track and was amazed at some of the things I found. If you are interested in finding out more about your own family, I have put together a few pointers…

This week we are featuring Yvonne Chia who went after her dream of starting her own jewelry company several years ago and has gone on to be quite successful at it! Her jewelry is sold in Barney’s New York in Japan and in many top boutiques. I like how her pieces have a natural element feel to them. They are definitely statement pieces that could tie together a whole outfit! There is a simplicity to them but they are quite beautiful in this simplicity. She is based out of Singapore and took some time to talk to us about her company, WoonHung. Tell us how you and when you…
