Mountains, vineyards, farms, ocean and theme parks – California has something for everyone.

    November 8, 2019 /

“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” ~ Anonymous Mountains, vineyards, farms, ocean and theme parks – California has something for everyone. Whether you are traveling from near or far, there are hidden gems to discover. Our latest discovery is Visalia located in the San Joaquin Valley which is 190 miles north of Los Angeles. Known to many as the gateway to the Parks, many visitors enjoy Visalia’s food, fun and festivals on their way to Sequoia and King’s National Parks.  Driving out of LA and into the small town charm of Downtown Visalia is a great weekend getaway. One of the best perks…

    Dragon Fruit Smoothie

    September 28, 2019 /

This week I was sent a box of exotic fruits to try out from Melissa’s Produce. Started by a husband-wife team, this Los Angeles-based company offers amazing produce and their exotic fruits do not disappoint. They provide fruit and vegetables from all parts of the world. In fact, their catch phrase is “delivering the global market”. I am always amazed at the quality and unique items they carry and is currently the largest distributor of specialty produce in the United States. Have you tried dragon fruit yet? It has recently become my teen’s favorite fruit to experiment with and she has been trying out different smoothie recipes all month! They…

Health Series :: “The Kegal Throne” Review

    September 26, 2019 /

Welcome to my first post in a new health and beauty series where we research and test the latest technologies and treatments available. Last week I had a chance to try out the BTL EMSELLA at NEXMED Health and Body. Otherwise known as “The Kegal Throne” or as I call her “M” for short. This machine is a non-surgical and non-invasive treatment for stress or urge urinary incontinence. For years now, I have to make sure I am close to a restroom whenever I go out due to my frequent bathroom trips. And when I drive up from Orange County to Los Angeles for work, more often than not, I…

What Wisdom Can You Learn from a Geeky Mom?

    September 25, 2019 /

Interview with Author Jenny Bristol Jenny Bristol is one of four founding editors of GeekMom, one of the Geek Family Network blogs. The network focuses on content of interest to geeks, parents, and geeky parents, including products, places, interviews, experiences, and think pieces. When asked, Jenny says she “sort of fell into writing as a career.” She wrote for fun when she was a teenager but didn’t do anything with it. It wasn’t until her mid 30s when she started writing her own blog posts, which turned into writing for blogs, which led to writing books and other writing-based jobs. Jenny, give us an overview of yourself as a book…
