Exclusive Interview with DreamWorks’ TROLLS Filmmakers and Actors
This past month I was invited to the Trolls media launch held at Comic Con in San Diego. If you haven’t read my post yet about this amazing 3-day event you really should! It is something everyone should experience and so worth the time and effort to attend! The tickets aren’t very expensive but it is hard to get them. Read more about it here. I drove down to San Diego from Orange County and was astonished by the number of people walking around in costumes – on the streets and outside the San Diego Conference Center. Luckily, I was able to find parking at a nearby hotel…

Bringing Beauty and Color to Kids in Need – Athens, Greece
While volunteering in a refugee camp in Athens, Greece for 2 months, I met many adorable children with bright smiles and kind laughs. The kids enjoyed games, activities, school and anything where you showed affection and love towards them. Since I have a passion for art, I started to draw henna-like designs on the kids. Everyone loved the drawings and soon enough I had children lined up for them. The girls adored having pretty flower and mandala designs on their hands. After watching the kids’ eagerness and enthusiasm for the designs, I realized that they loved having something unique and special drawn on their hands. The boys loved to have their favorite…

Disney’s Pete’s Dragon Will Steal Your Heart – Out in Theaters August 12th
We had a chance to check out Disney’s new film Pete’s Dragon last weekend and absolutely fell in love with everything about this movie. I am such a sucker for dragons and the whole time watching this film I kept thinking that I wanted a dragon as a friend too! Disney is such the master at making heartfelt movies and this one is no exception. From the storytelling to the CGI, cast to Elliot the Dragon sweet personality, there is so much to love about this film. The Beginning: In 1977, Walt Disney Studios released the live-action/animated musical “Pete’s Dragon,” the endearing tale of a young boy and his friendship…

An Awesome and Affordable South African Safari – Addo Elephant Park
The highlight of my family’s one month trip to South Africa this spring was our self-drive safari in Addo Elephant Park. South Africa offers many different types of safaris throughout the country – from luxurious one week safaris to the one-day self-drive ones. Since we travel full-time on a budget, the idea of spending thousands of dollars on a week safari just wasn’t going to happen. We heard that the self-drive tours are still fantastic and at a fraction of the cost – and it was so true! AMAZING!! Since we were traveling along the southern coast of South Africa in an area called The Garden Route, we decided to try…

Save the Date: August 9th AIG Travel #WhereNext Twitter Party!
I am super excited to be working with AIG Travel this month and sharing with you all the many benefits of sustainable travel. Sustainable travel is the socially-responsible way families and solo-travelers are exploring new places. I wrote a piece about sustainable travel here you can check out but basically sustainable travel is about leaving a positive impact on the communities you visit. This could be something as simple as eating at local restaurants to support the business owners (think small businesses) as opposed to your favorite fast food joint to purchasing souvenirs that are handmade by locals opposed to trinkets made just for tourists. Join the…
