Salma Hayek and her Mother talk Stage Fright and Parenting in HOLA!
I’ve been a fan of the gorgeous Salma Hayek for many years now! She came to Hollywood with limited fluency in English, and dyslexia but just made things happen! I love that type of grit and determination! This month, in celebration of all mother’s, Salma and her mother are HOLA! USA’s May cover stars. We have some clips and quotes from both Salma and her mom where they talk about acting and stardom. This marks the mother/daughter duo’s first cover together for a special Mother’s Day issue, where Salma talks about a surprising fear, what actually made her want to be an actress, and her take on motherhood. In fact, it took us about three years of trying and even then we were told that we wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally since I was having hormonal issues and severe endometriosis. Here’s our story to getting pregnant. After about the second year of trying to conceive on our own I started researching our options. After…

Recipe :: Beef Braciole with Egg and Tomato Braising Sauce
Using left-over hard cooked eggs….. I got a glimpse of summer during the kid’s Spring Break and I liked it! But, back to the real world and that means using up holiday leftovers, grocery shopping, packing lunches and making dinners that can extend into said lunches. My Monday night meal usually consists of some version of spaghetti and meatballs (due to my teenage son’s disproportionate love and adoration of this meal), but this week, I had extra hard-cooked eggs the Easter Bunny left behind that I needed to use. What to do? I made Beef Braciole in a Tomato Braising sauce with Polenta….this week’s version of spaghetti and meatballs.…
